Grow in medium moisture, moderately fertile, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. Prefers full sun, but appreciates part shade in hot summer climates. Plant corms in spring after last frost date approximately 3-4” deep and 6” apart. Not reliably winter hardy in USDA Zone 5 where it needs a protected location and winter mulch. In order to insure winter survival in USDA Zone 5 and perhaps Zone 6A, digging up the corms in fall and storing them in a dry medium over winter (in somewhat the same manner as gladiolus) is an option that may be considered.
Noteworthy Characteristics
Crocosmia is a genus or about 7 species of cormous plants from grasslands in South Africa. Montbretias are good fresh cut flowers which are frequently used in commercial flower arrangements.
Genus name comes from the Greek words krokos meaning saffron and osme meaning a smell for the smell of dried flowers steeped in warm water.
'Emberglow' This golden yellow crocosmia was named for the British-born scientist George Davidson, famous for his exploratory work and teachings on the U.S. Pacific Coast in the 1800s. Professor Davidson was a bright star, not unlike this brilliant hybrid. This is the best yellow crocosmia for size and number of blossoms, and is, like the others in this group, a breeze to grow.
Garden Uses
Provides color and contrast to the perennial border. May be grown in containers where lifting in winter is perhaps easier.

My favorite E edger so far.

For a battery powered unit, it was much better than I expected. Powerful enough to do everything in my yard. It beats even some of my previous good gas ones.
I did my whole large front yard with a little more than one battery. Pretty good, actually.

Does a good job, and works pretty well. Took weeks to have it delivered.
Works pretty well, seems to be slightly underpowered. I think it would work better if the soil here were drier. The shroud around the blade would probably not jam up with dirt if the soil here is drier. I was constantly having to remove the battery and using a screwdriver to remove the dirt from the shroud. The shroud would work better if it was larger. There is an adjuster that lowers a metal guide that fits up against the concrete that helps you to keep the blade right up to the edge, make sure to lower that guide into place. The 20 Volt Max batteries I used are hard to insert and remove, but mine are aftermarket batteries, and another tool I own is also hard to insert and remove the same batteries.

Make sure you have original DeWALT batteries
Color: Yellow
I thought there was something wrong with the edger but it was the batteries. Must use original DeWALT batteries. I have cheap replacement batteries that work fine for all my DeWALT tools but do not work with this edger. Will run for a few seconds and shut off. With original DeWALT batteries, this edger works great.
