Self-Watering Orchid Pot for Rimmed & Rimless Aquariums
Built for Aquarium Integration
• Fits rimmed and rimless aquariums
• Aquarium-safe PETG construction
• Stable mounting bracket
• Optional height extensions available
• Designed for freshwater systems
Grow orchids directly from your aquarium using a self-watering system engineered specifically for epiphytic roots.
Compatible with both rimmed and rimless freshwater aquariums, this planter uses passive capillary action to draw water from your tank into the root zone. No daily watering. No misting schedule. No soaking routines.
Your aquarium becomes the hydration source.
The Secret to Making Orchids Work in a Wicking System
Traditional orchid bark is designed for fast drainage. It does not wick water efficiently.
Coco chips do.
This planter is designed to be used with coco chips instead of orchid bark because:
• Coco chips absorb and redistribute moisture through capillary action
• They maintain airflow while still holding structured hydration
• They resist rapid dry-down compared to bark
• They create a stable moisture gradient ideal for wicking systems
In a wicking environment, material choice matters. Coco chips allow moisture to move upward consistently while still keeping roots aerated.
That balance is what makes this system work.
How the Aquarium Wicking System Works
A wick extends from the planter down into your aquarium water. As the orchid uses moisture, water is drawn upward into the coco chips above.
The chips distribute that moisture gradually, creating a hydrated but breathable root environment.
Roots stay moist. They do not sit in standing water.
This allows orchids to benefit from:
• Steady hydration
• Ambient aquarium humidity
• Oxygen flow at the roots
• Reduced watering frequency
Ideal For
• Phalaenopsis orchids (commonly found in your grocery store)
• Dendrobium varieties
• Oncidium types
• Miniature orchids
• Epiphytic tropical plants
Best suited for orchids that prefer consistent moisture combined with strong root airflow.

The root zone stays elevated above the waterline while pulling moisture upward from the tank below.
Why Choose Mossari
Mossari orchid planters are engineered specifically around wicking performance. Material selection, airflow, and capillary mechanics are designed to work together.
This is not a decorative clip-on pot.
It is a structured hydration system built for orchids.
