Plant Care

Light: Provide bright, indirect sunlight for your Trailing Jade. It appreciates ample light but should be shielded from intense, direct sunlight, which can scorch the delicate leaves. A south or west-facing window with filtered light is ideal.

Temperature: Maintain a warm indoor environment with temperatures between 60-75°F (15-24°C). Protect the plant from cold drafts, as it is sensitive to temperature fluctuations.

Watering: Allow the soil to dry out almost completely between waterings. Water sparingly but thoroughly, as Trailing Jade is drought-tolerant. Overwatering can lead to root rot. Reduce watering during the dormant season (fall and winter).

Soil: Use well-draining cactus or succulent potting mix to ensure good drainage and prevent waterlogged soil. A mix of potting soil, perlite, and sand is suitable.

Pot: Ensure the pot has drainage holes to prevent water accumulation at the root level. Trailing Jade prefers slightly crowded conditions and does not require frequent repotting.

Fertilization: Feed your Trailing Jade sparingly. Apply a balanced, water-soluble cactus or succulent fertilizer diluted to half strength every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Avoid over-fertilizing.

Pests: Senecio Jacobsenii is relatively pest-resistant, but occasionally, mealybugs or aphids may appear. Inspect your plant regularly and treat any infestations promptly with insecticidal soap or neem oil.

More Comfortable than an Airbed

I purchased this 4-inch foam floor mattress for when grandchildren stay over. This is my 2nd one, since zi have 2 grandchildren. I don't have room for beds or bunk beds, but I have a space where I can store these. If you have a place to store the mattress when it's folded (25 inches high, 31 inches wide, 12 inches deep) I recommend a 4-inch thick foam floor mattress over an air bed. In my home it is the perfect solution! Follow all the directions for allowing the mattress to reach its full thickness. It is vacuum packed and needs several hours (almost 2 days) to expand.
