Yes you can grow strawberries from seed! These are Alpine Strawberries, a wild relative of garden strawberries that are much smaller with 5x the flavor! It's as if the flavor of a full strawberry has been concentrated down into a tiny package. Tastes like candy, you can smell them on the wind when they are ripe. Plants do not spread via runners, and are very well behaved as border plants and in marginal areas of the garden. Highly recommended. Dehydrated fruits are divine.
Seedlings are tiny, it's best to sow the seeds in flats and let the plants size up until the leaves are 1-2 inches in diameter before planting into the garden. Do not direct sow into the garden, they will very likely be lost in the sauce.
