Pentas Beehive™ Lipstick is a must-have for gardeners who want bold color and pollinator appeal all summer long. With vivid, lipstick-red, star-shaped blooms, this compact variety is a magnet for butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds from late spring through the summer. Whether you're planting to support pollinators or simply looking to add rich, continuous color to your beds and containers, Beehive™ Lipstick delivers with vibrant style and dependable performance.
This variety grows in a neat, rounded habit—8 to 12 inches tall and 8 to 12 inches wide—making it perfect for small-space gardens, mixed borders, and sunny containers. It's especially effective in butterfly gardens, patio pots, and raised beds, where its vivid red blooms stand out beautifully against green foliage and other flowering companions.
Start seeds indoors 8 to 10 weeks before your last frost date. It prefers well-drained soil and benefits from consistent watering early on, though it becomes moderately drought-tolerant once established. Pentas Beehive™ Lipstick thrives in full sun and is well suited to hot, humid climates.
Beehive™ Lipstick is the perfect choice if you're looking for a low-maintenance, high-impact bloomer that supports pollinators and looks stunning all season. With its bold color, tidy habit, and long bloom time, it's a reliable performer that requires minimal maintenance. This seed comes as a "pellet". "Pelleted" seeds are small seeds that have been clay-coated to make them larger and more uniform in size and shape, making them easier to handle when planting.
