##Wild Mustard, sometimes called field mustard, is a selection of our local adapted Wild Mustard here in Southern Oregon. For us here in zone 7, this mustard has been reliable, vigorous, resistant to pest and diseases and very cold hardy.Wild Mustard has become a regular staple in our diet and we enjoy the mild greens (as far as mustard greens go) in gentle soups, sauteed with vinegar and soy sauce, or added to any number of soups, stews, omelettes, etc. You can easily replace kale or spinach in most recipes 1-1 with wild mustard, and because of their mustardy flavor, they really shine in dishes that call for any number of Asian mustards such as pac choy.In our climate, the mustard thrives in the fall and early spring and that's when the greens are their mildest. Wild mustard puts on most of the growth in the cooler shoulder seasons. You can get greens year round if you want, but the plant wants to flower in the hotter seasons. So we go with the flow, eat in season, and enjoy greens during the cooler months. The young, unopened flower bud clusters and young supple flower stalks are also a delicacy which we include in soups or fry up as their own vegetable with noodles (e.g. inspired by pad see ew) or on their own.In the summer we are collecting mustard seed heads, threshing and winnowing or screening off the lighter chaff, and we are left with a beautiful mustard seed with a moderate level of spiciness. The colors of the mustard seed are diverse and range from yellow to dark brown, non-uniformity an indicator of the genetic diversity available in this stable land race of mustard, from which we have selected our wild garden companions. We enjoy the mustard seed in curries especially, but can be used anywhere mustard seed is called for, including making your own deli mustard or prepared mustard from scratch! Wild, or Field Mustard is the origin of many varieties in the Brassicaceae family, including turnips, bok choy, and canola. Originally from Europe, and pervasive in temperate climates. ##Idyllwild##Conventional##Seed grower since 2018####Idyllwild was born of our joyful curiosity and celebration of nature’s diverse gifts. Following nature’s model of open dispersal and dissemination, we share these seeds with you and invite you to play in the garden of abundance. We learn from nature and she has taught us to live and think in terms of “abundance” instead of “scarcity”. Diversity - in all forms, from genetic to creative expression - is the heart of resilience. We enjoy experimenting with myriads of flavors, colors, and textures and the world opens to us in infinite possibilities. As a result, we are nourished in body, mind, and spirit.

Love these but be aware ...
Bought some of these on a recent UK cruise and loved them. Ordered online once we returned to US. Unfortunately USPS delivery vans are not air conditioned and these arrived with the chocolate melted. Once they cooled the chocolate hardened and rivaled the best industrial adhesive for sticking them whole pack together. Had to break them apart. Not the fault of the manufacturer or the shipper, but beware.

Melted
These biscuits seem to melt easily.
I have purchased from 2 different sellers and have nothing but problems with them stuck together and crumbling on arrival.

All melted and ruined.
First - let me tell you how much I love these biscuits. I really REALLY love them. Living in Texas as an ex-pat, they give me a nice little treat from home when I needed it.
Second - Shipping SUCKS. While speedy, the box is not marked for keeping out of the heat, or "needs refrigeration" etc... SOMETHING. They were left in my mail box. ALL day. In 90+ degree Texas heat. So yeah, the chocolate melted them all together, even though I immediately put them in the fridge. They were a mess to break apart, and instead I ended up with 2-3 layer sandwich-like biscuit chunks.
I'm so disappointed- how do I dip them in my Tetley cuppa, when they come like this?? I won't buy these from this seller in the future.

Great product and service after disappointment
Flavor Name: Traditional, Size: 4 Ounce (Pack of 1)
Ive tried a few different brands of biltong and made my own. I have to say that this wasn't my favorite. Believe me, i wanted to like it. The taste was sour and most of the bag was pulverized shreds. :( I did find that letting a bit airdry in a bowl made it a little more palatable, but honestly it'sjust sitting in my fridge still, where normally I'd have eaten the whole bag in a day or so. I will say that there was a decent amount for the price. The texture and cut were good on the whole pieces. Also, some of the bites left a weird coating and nasty taste on my tongue, like baking soda or something, but definitely an off taste.
I had my own beef jerky store for several years, so I'm a connoisseur, but no snob.
-----update 8/13/2019-------
I contacted customer service via the email on the bag and got a response. They sent me a new bag and here is the email I sent them back. Very happy now.
....The biltong showed up last Thursday! I'm sorry i kept forgetting to email you.
It is delicious. It's night and day difference between the bag I got through Amazon originally.
This bag was pristine and the taste is spot on. Every piece is a perfect slice, no shreds or fluff. Dark, rich brown color, not hay colored like the old bag. I really think that the other bag got very hot or something and out the taste off.
Thank you so much. Now I know that if I am in the mood for biltong, Ayoba-yo is a good choice.
Thanks for the customer service as well.....

Ayoba-Yo Traditional Beef Biltong
Flavor Name: Traditional, Size: 4 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I have been lucky to visit South Africa a few times in my life. What is not lucky is coming home to the United States and craving biltong. Biltong is a magical, sugar-free, barely processed jerky and once you try it, you will never want to eat American beef jerky again. Biltong made in South Africa cannot be imported to the States, which is probably the saddest thing ever. I have searched for the perfect recreation of what I have eaten while road tripping through the Karoo, and I haven't found anything that can match it. Until I got this Ayoba-Yo Biltong delivered to my door yesterday. My search is over. Ayoba-Yo is a match to the biltong in my memories. The meat is sliced thin and perfect for snacking. It is fresh, doesn't contain any gross preservatives, and the flavors are the perfect traditional blend. Try this biltong and make the switch, you won't be disappointed!
