Description
cast iron plant pots Late 19th Century French Industrial Cast-Iron Mortar Converted PlanterThis weighty industrial mortar, likely French and dating to the late 19th century, has a robust tapering cast iron form with a subtly flared rim and a broad splayed foot. The surface retains traces of old workshop green paint over a gritty casting texture, now softened by age and use, with areas of exposed rusted metal along the edges. Originally used in factories or laboratories for grinding minerals and pigments, it exemplifies the durable,
Condition and patina consistent with age.
