A true collector’s gem, the Orange Princess 'Sunspot' Variegated Philodendron boasts stunning marbled foliage in vibrant shades of orange, gold, and deep green. This rare hybrid is perfect for plant lovers seeking a bold statement piece with dynamic variegation and easy-care qualities. Whether climbing a moss pole or cascading from a hanging planter, its radiant leaves bring an exotic, tropical charm to any space.

Why Philodendron Orange Princess is Unique & Rare:

The Philodendron "Orange Princess" / sp. 'Sunspot' variegated is rare due to its unique orange, gold, and green marbling, an uncommon color combination in Philodendrons. Limited cultivation, slow growth, and unpredictable variegation stability make it harder to mass-produce, while high demand among collectors adds to its scarcity. Unlike fast-growing green varieties, this plant requires careful selection and propagation, ensuring only the most striking specimens reach the market. Its vibrant hues and exclusivity make it a prized addition to any plant collection.

Why You’ll Love It: 💚

  • Rare & Unique: A striking blend of orange, yellow, and green, unlike any other Philodendron.
  • Easy Care: Thrives in indoor environments with minimal maintenance.
  • Versatile Display: Train it to climb or let it trail for a dramatic effect.

Plant Care FAQs: 🪴

  • Plant Type: Chill
  • Plant Vibe: Orange Royalty
  • Plant Family: Araceae
  • Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light; tolerates moderate light conditions.
  • Watering: Allow the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings; avoid overwatering to prevent root rot.
  • Humidity: Prefers high humidity levels; regular misting or a humidifier can be beneficial.
  • Soil: Well-draining potting mix with added perlite or orchid bark for aeration.
  • Fertilizer: Feed monthly during the growing season with a balanced, diluted fertilizer.
  • Toxicity: Toxic to pets and humans if ingested; keep out of reach of children and animals.
  • Special Care: Provide a moss pole for support to encourage larger, more vibrant leaves.

🏆Pro Care Tip: To maintain the vibrant variegation of your Philodendron "Orange Princess" place it in bright, indirect light and rotate it regularly for even growth. Use a moss pole for larger leaves, allow the top inch of soil to dry between waterings, and boost humidity with misting or a pebble tray for optimal health.

  • Position in a bright, indirect light spot to enhance its variegation and promote growth.

Building something wonderful out of the broken pieces
Format: Hardcover
Meg Eden Kuyatt has done it again. I am a big fan of novel in verse, and this author is one reason why. The poetry delivers character, setting, and story in a clear, believable voice. The protagonist, V, is a middle school girl full of feelings, celebrating her difference while fighting for her place in the wonderland of neurotypicals. V introduces herself in vibrant socks that say “I am strange and wonderful.” And with that, we are off. V is reluctantly spending the summer with her grandma Jojo in the pristine white house that has been in her family for generations. History is definitely living here. The house is a character itself (and a metaphor). I love that V’s cousin Cat creates assemblages, an art form I was not familiar with. Cat describes it as taking discarded, broken stuff and turning it into something beautiful (another metaphor). There is a lot going on here and a satisfying resolution brought on by a heaping dose of empathy. Highly recommend for the suggested audience (juvenile fiction, grades 3-7), their teachers, and families with neurodivergence.

Emotionally messy relationships with unreliable narrators
Format: Hardcover
Meg Eden Kuyatt guides us through a beautifully lyrical journey into the life of V, an autistic girl forced to spend the summer with her overbearing grandmother. The story is often more metaphorical than literal, which works well thematically since it revolves around emotionally messy relationships with unreliable narrators, making the details of both the past and present difficult to pin down. Overall, a great read that will be appreciated by both kids and adults looking for mature, nuanced stories about dysfunctional families and the autistic experience.

A New Favorite
Format: Hardcover
This was one of my favorite new MG horror books of the year. The story was beautifully told with a strong emotional arc and eerie touches, as well as excellent ND representation. Can't recommend it enough!

Excellent (slightly) spooky read
Format: Hardcover
Another great read by Meg Eden Kuyatt. I am not much of a scary books fan, but this one was so good. I especially loved that the main character has autism and we learn so much through how different members of her family treat her.
