Creeping Thyme Seeds (Thymus serpyllum) – Perennial, Non-GMO, Heirloom
Creeping Thyme (Thymus serpyllum) is a low-growing, perennial herb known for its fragrant foliage and beautiful purple blooms. This non-GMO, heirloom variety is perfect as a ground cover, edging plant, or pollinator attractor in gardens. It is drought-tolerant and thrives in various soil conditions, making it a great choice for low-maintenance landscaping.
🌱 How to Grow:
- Start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost, or direct sow outdoors after frost danger has passed.
- Sprinkle seeds lightly on the soil surface and press gently—do not cover, as they need light to germinate.
- Soil: Prefers well-draining, sandy or loamy soil (pH 6.0-8.0).
- USDA Zones: 4-9, cold-hardy and heat-tolerant.
- Best Time to Plant: Spring or early fall.
- Germination: 14-21 days with warmth and light moisture.
- Bloom Time: Mid to late summer, with continuous flowering in warm climates.
☀️ Plant Care:
- Full sun (6+ hours daily) for best growth and flowering.
- Water sparingly, as thyme prefers dry to moderately moist soil.
- No need for heavy fertilization; occasional compost or organic fertilizer is sufficient.
- Prune lightly after flowering to maintain shape and encourage regrowth.
- Drought-tolerant once established, making it a perfect choice for rock gardens and pathways.
🌿 A great addition to any herb garden, Creeping Thyme provides beauty, fragrance, and a natural ground cover that attracts bees and butterflies!
