Light: Prefers bright, indirect light but can tolerate lower light conditions. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves or cause them to lose their variegation.
Water: Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry. Be cautious of overwatering, as this plant is susceptible to root rot. In winter, reduce watering frequency as the plant’s growth slows.
Humidity: Thrives in high humidity environments but can adapt to average indoor humidity. Increasing humidity levels with a humidifier or misting will promote healthier growth and prevent browning leaf edges.
Temperature: Best suited to temperatures between 18-27°C. Protect from cold drafts and avoid temperatures below 15°C.
Origin: Philodendron brandtianum is native to the tropical rainforests of South America, particularly in countries like Brazil and Colombia.
Toxicity: Toxic to pets and humans if ingested, causing symptoms like irritation and swelling. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
