Never in great profusion, or with much regularity, appear the bright orange rayless composite flowers, usually in fall or winter. The flowers have that rich cheesey smell that is typical of many species of Senecio - though not really pleasant, it is not that strong and less malodorous than some other Senecio. If planted next to a wall, or in a container, the stems drape downwards as much as 4 feet. Uniquely, the leaves and the flower stand upright from the stems. Plant in full sun to light shade and give occasional water. Hardy to 20°F (some say as low as 15°F). Makes a interesting and attractive groundcover, hanging basket or window box specimen. It is a fairly easy plant to grow but resents shady cool moist conditions. In Gordon Rowley's Succulent Compositae he notes (quoting Peter Baily) that "in view of its spreading habit and its high resistance to drought [it] can be recommended for binding soil on steep banks." though Rowley also observed himself that "in succulent collections it is suitable for hanging baskets, but is rather shy blooming." Senecio jacobsenii comes from the highlands of Tanganyika, Kenya and Tanzania and was originally described in 1909 by German botanist Reinhold (Reno) Conrad Muschler (1883-1957) as Senecio petraeus but the name, determined illegitimate by Klas. Robert Elias Fries was changed in 1928 to Notonia petraea. In 1955 Gordon D. Rowley renamed this plant in honor of Hermann Johannes Heinrich Jacobsen (1898-1978) German horticulturist and botanist who specialized in succulent plants. This plant has also been called Kleinia petraea and Notoniopsis petraea and the correct name is still in debate today. The information on this page is based on research conducted about this plant in our library and from reliable online sources. We also take into consideration observations of this plant in our nursery crops, as well as of plants growing in the nursery's garden and those in other gardens we visit. We also will incorporate comments that we receive from others and welcome getting feedback from anyone who may have additional information, particularly if it includes cultural information that would aid others in growing Senecio jacobsenii.Shipping Notes

Great Looking Lightweight Golf Pants
Color: Khaki, Size: 38W x 32L, Color: Khaki, Size: 38W x 32L
This is a great looking pair of lightweight golf pants from M MAELREG.
They’re tailored from a Polyester and Spandex blend (94% - 6%) in an attractive weave. I selected the Khaki version and the pants are lightweight, very comfortable and fit true to size.
They have a button and zipper fly closure with a silicone ‘gripper’ on the inside waistband, which helps hold the pants in place if you decide not to wear a belt. But if you do wear a belt, the pants have 6 total belt loops, including a pair at the rear (often not found on many pants today).
They have 2 front pockets and a hidden pocket with a zipper closure on the right side. The 2 back pockets are stitched shut. Since I rarely use back pockets on any pants or jeans that I wear, that’s not an issue for me. But if you do use them, you’ll need to cut them open yourself. (I would suggest carefully using an X-Acto type knife.)
These versatile pants can be worn dressed up for business attire or down for leisure. (In other words, you don’t have to be a golfer to wear them. LOL!) And the quality, fit and pricing of the pants are comparable to many of the top national brands like Nike, Callaway and PGA Tour.

Sharp Style and All-Day Comfort on and Off Course
Color: Iron Grey, Size: 32W x 32L, Color: Iron Grey, Size: 32W x 32L
I have worn a lot of golf and casual pants over the years, and these MAELREG pants truly impressed me from the moment I put them on. The fit is tailored without feeling restrictive, and the lightweight stretch fabric moves comfortably whether I’m walking around the lake with my Labrador, spending time with family, or heading out for dinner. They have a clean, polished appearance that works just as well for business casual settings as they do for golf outings.
What I appreciate most is how comfortable they stay throughout the day. The moisture-wicking and quick-dry material kept me cool in the Florida heat, and the water-resistant finish handled light splashes and unexpected weather without any problem. The waistband stays secure and comfortable, and the overall fit gives a sharp, athletic look without being too tight.
The pocket design is also very practical. I like having the zipper pocket for valuables while still getting plenty of room in the front and back pockets for everyday essentials. The fabric feels durable yet soft, and the quality is better than I expected for the price.
These pants have quickly become one of my favorite pairs because they combine comfort, flexibility, and a refined appearance so well. MAELREG delivered a stylish, well-made product that looks great and performs even better.

Golf pants
Color: Iron Grey, Size: 36W x 34L, Color: Iron Grey, Size: 36W x 34L
For a generic pair of golf pants, these are actually quite good, though the fit isn't entirely perfect. The overall quality of the material surprised me; it feels durable, has a nice stretch to it, and looks good enough for the course or a casual Friday. The length was also spot-on right out of the package. However, they felt slightly small in the waist. At an okay price point, they are a solid budget option. I can’t speak for longevity yet, but they seem fine.

Excellent golf ⛳️ pants!!!
Color: Dark Charcoal, Size: 34W x 34L, Color: Dark Charcoal, Size: 34W x 34L
I bought these pants primarily for golf, but they've quickly become one of my go-to pairs for everyday wear as well. The fabric is lightweight, breathable, and has just the right amount of stretch to stay comfortable throughout the day. I also like that they shed light moisture and dry quickly.
The fit is excellent. The straight-leg design looks clean and modern without being too slim or too baggy. The elastic waistband and silicone grip help keep my shirt tucked in during a round of golf, which is a nice touch.
The pockets are practical and deep enough for a phone, wallet, and other essentials. Just note that the back pockets come stitched closed and need to be opened before use.
I've worn these for golf, travel, and even casual office days, and they work well in all situations. They look dressy enough to pass as business casual while still feeling like athletic pants. Overall, a great combination of comfort, style, and versatility for the price.

Comfortable lightweight golf pants with good stretch and a clean fit
Color: Iron Grey, Size: 34W x 32L
These golf pants feel comfortable right away and have a nice lightweight stretch that works well for warm weather. The polyester and spandex material blend moves easily without feeling flimsy, and the water‑resistant finish should help on damp mornings. The fit is clean and straight without being tight, and the waistband has enough grip to stay put during a round. The pockets are practical, especially the small zip pocket for valuables. The back pockets come stitched shut, so you have to open them yourself, but that’s common with dress‑style pants.
The fabric has a slightly technical look, but it still works for both golf and casual wear. They feel breathable, dry quickly, and hold their shape after moving around. For the price, the quality and comfort are solid, and they’re versatile enough to wear on or off the course. I feel like this material doesn't wrinkle easily, but when it does is very hard to get the wrinkles out.
