Tillandsia ionantha is a species of air plant native to Central America, Mexico, and has been naturalized in parts of florida. Tillandsia ionantha is very popular in cultivation for its beauty and because it is an easy species of air plant to care for. The leaves are silvery in appearance when dry because of the specialized trichomes that the plant uses to rapidly absorb water. Tillandsia ionantha do not absorb water or nutrients through their roots, the roots they do grow anchor them in the branches of trees. When the plants enter into a blooming cycle, their green leaves change into vibrant red/pink which help draw attention to their beautiful purple flowers. To care for T. ionantha, submerge the entire plant in water for 15 min twice a week, and mist regularly. Tillandsia ionantha benefit from humid environments, but can still be grown in drier environments with regular mistings. USDA hardiness zone 11.

Soak the Tillandsia ionantha seeds in room temperature water for 2 to 3 weeks, then transfer the seeds to the surface of a moist growing medium. An ideal growing medium holds moisture, but does not remain soaking wet, and is unlikely to mold. Good choices for this are sphagnum moss, jute fabric sheets, tree fern fiber, the soft side of velcro strips, etc. Keep the seeds and growing medium humid by keeping them in a plastic container. The seeds should be placed in a bright area, but not direct sunlight. Allow some air exchange, and mist regularly. Germination typically takes 1 to 2 months Even with optimal conditions, germination may be slow and sporadic.

Poor formatting on kindle version
Format: Kindle
Five stars for the book, 0 stars for the formatting of this kindle version. Every word that contains a double "l", such as "all", "Stillness", "hill", etc. omits the second "l" in the word. Universal y. Kil. Al. Germ cels. It is extremely annoying, and one or more on nearly every page. Is it possible to swap this one for a kindle version with better formatting?

Intense and Informative
Format: Paperback
This is some intense and easily consumed deep reading material, compelling us to gaze uncomfortably at and into the unflattering challenges which continue to face the African-American collective "Community," and delves head-on into examining & explaining how the "HISTORICAL EXPERIENCE" of Black People in the United States, those who were the unfortunate descendants of the Trans-Atlantic African Slave Trade, has both simultaneously "Strengthened" and "Hindered" hindered life for this segment of the North American population across the Generations, to where many of its effects are still being felt even to this very Day. This is a powerful companion to Dr. Carol Anderson's excellent book on on the Societal struggles of Blacks in America - "WHITE RAGE: The Unspoken Truth Of Our Racial Divide"
