Dracaena Janet Craig is the classic, clean, deep-green Dracaena that has been a staple of homes and offices for decades. Its long, broad, glossy dark green leaves grow in a rosette form from a central stem, creating a bold, tropical look that works equally well as a desk plant or a floor specimen as it grows taller with age. It is one of the most reliable and adaptable large houseplants you can buy.
Good for beginners? Absolutely. Janet Craig is one of the most forgiving Dracaenas in existence. It tolerates low light, irregular watering, and most indoor conditions without drama. It is a popular choice for offices precisely because it asks so little.
Safe for cats and dogs? Dracaena is toxic to pets if ingested. Keep out of reach of cats and dogs, or explore our pet-safe plant collection.
Light needs: Low to bright indirect light. Janet Craig genuinely tolerates lower light better than most large tropical plants. Brighter indirect light encourages faster growth but is not required for a healthy plant.
Care at a glance: Water when the top inch of soil is dry. Use filtered water where possible as Dracaenas are sensitive to fluoride — a common cause of brown leaf tips. Feed monthly in spring and summer. Wipe leaves occasionally to keep them glossy.
Ships fresh from one of our two greenhouse locations in a nursery pot. Covered by our 30-Day Plant Guarantee — if it arrives damaged, we replace it. Free shipping on orders $149+.
