It is a brownish, viscous liquid. Our bakuchiol has not been subjected to any other treatment to reduce its color.

Please note that our bakuchiol is NOT bakuchiol oil, babchi oil, or cold-pressed babchi seed oil. There is a considerable difference between bakuchiol oil and bakuchiol.

Bakuchiol oil, bakuchiol seed oil, and babchi oil are all terms used to describe the pressed oil from babchi seeds. The pressed babchi seed oil contains a much lower level of the active component, bakuchiol.

Bakuchiol is also called "Plant-Retinol" or "plant-A" because it provides antiaging effects similar to those of retinol.
