Grow towering, high-yield sunflowers with the Edible Sunflower Seeds Collection, featuring two classic heirloom non-GMO varieties—Mammoth and Black Russian. These dual-purpose giants deliver both spectacular golden blooms and abundant edible seeds, perfect for roasting, snacking, or feeding backyard birds.

Reaching 8–12 feet tall, these sunflowers produce massive flower heads packed with oil-rich seeds while creating a stunning focal point in the garden. Ideal for homesteads, pollinator gardens, and large landscapes, they combine ornamental beauty with practical harvest value.

Towering, Productive, and Pollinator-Friendly:

  • Includes two giant heirloom types: Mammoth (bright yellow petals) and Black Russian (gold petals with dark centers).
  • Produces hundreds of large, edible seeds per bloom for roasting or bird feed.
  • Creates bold, structural height and vibrant summer-to-fall garden color.
  • Supports bees, butterflies, and birds, enriching biodiversity year-round.

Why Gardeners Love This Sunflower Collection:

  • Dual-Purpose Value – Grows for both beauty and food, producing edible seeds and wildlife feed.
  • Giant Garden Presence – 8–12 ft stalks with massive heads make perfect privacy screens or borders.
  • Easy to Grow – Thrives in full sun and well-drained soil across USDA Zones 3–11.
  • Low Maintenance – Drought-tolerant once established and reliable in hot climates.
  • Perfect for All Garden Types – Great for homesteads, large plots, or ornamental displays.

How to Grow Edible Sunflowers:

  • When to Plant: Sow seeds outdoors after the last frost when soil warms above 60°F (16°C).
  • Soil & Sun: Choose full sun and average, well-drained soil; amend with compost for best results.
  • Spacing: Allow 18–24 inches between plants to support large heads and sturdy stems.
  • Watering: Water deeply once per week to encourage strong root growth.
  • Bloom & Harvest: Blooms appear mid-summer through fall; allow heads to dry on the stalk before collecting seeds.

Harvest & Use:
Once petals fade and seed heads dry, remove and hang them to finish curing. Enjoy home-roasted sunflower seeds, share with backyard birds, or save for next season’s planting. Their towering beauty and generous harvest make this collection a favorite for gardeners seeking both productivity and visual impact.

Beautiful in a window seat
Size: 2' x 6' (Sheepskin Pelt Patchwork), Color: Ivory White, Size: 2' x 6' (Sheepskin Pelt Patchwork), Color: Ivory White
This is soft, pure white, and of decent quality for my purposes. I saw a photo of one used in a window seat so that's where mine is white 3 lumbar pillows on the sides and back of the seat. The size is perfect. It's a little bigger than my seat so I could use the tape to pin one side to each wall and also over the seat. I guess it all depends on what you are using it for to determine if you'll like it. I have a large sheepskin rug in another room. This one in my opinion is too skinny to be used as a rug. I haven't detected a smell at all.

It's real!
Size: 2' x 3' (Sheepskin Pelt Patchwork), Color: Ivory White
Off white but totally happy. Even though it's wool, it doesn't itch and is very soft. The patches are few and not at all noticeable from front. Very thick and looks great!

Nice and fluffy, the color is a bit lighter
Size: 2' x 6' (Sheepskin Pelt Patchwork), Color: Light Brown
Pretty and fluffy. Wishing the color were a bit darker so it matched my decor better. It’s hard to tell what color you’ll actually get 🫤 Not ideal but doable.

Beautiful rug but smelly when you first unpack it.
Size: 2' x 6' (Sheepskin Pelt Patchwork), Color: Ivory White
Beautiful quality. Deep thick fur. The "patches" are noting more than where 4 or 5 inch splits, one at each end were stitched back together. I wouldn't have even called them patches. They are the same stitching as used to join the two pelts in the middle. The color is a very clean white. Being natural pelt, I was really expecting something a little more blond. I've bought New Zealand sheepskin several times before and I don't doubt this is Aussie or Kiwi sheepskin but I didn't notice this is processed in China before I bought it. Still, the only complaint I had was a strange chemical smell when I unwrapped it. It didn't smell like the tanning chemicals from previous pelts. But it's gone away after 3 weeks so I guess all's good.
