They look dramatic and are an exotic plant hunters' shrub, not for casual amateurs.
Tetrapanax papyrifer produce creamy pompoms of flowers are produced in large sprays in autumn, followed by black fruit. Send in a picture if you ever see them. Can spread by suckering. They can reach upto 2m high.
