MAPP No. 17581
Active Ingredient: 680g/Kg Glyphosate.
Ecoplug Max® is a patented tree stump control application method which delivers glyphosate directly into the tree stump, killing its root system and preventing re-growth. Each plug contains 300mg of granular glyphosate which are simply placed into holes drilled into the stump using the Ecoplug drill bit. The plugs are then hammered in forcing out the sides of the plug, releasing the glyphosate into the phloem.
Ecoplug Max® supports requirements of the Sustainable Use Directive (SUD) to minimise use of pesticides. With the glyphosate encapsulated inside the unit, it never gets in direct contact with anything else but the plant, minimising the risk of the operator coming into contact with chemical or chemical spillage. It also eliminates the risk of damage to surrounding trees and vegetation. Quite simply, it stays where it belongs – inside the plant.
*Product colour may differ from image on page. Eco-Plugs may be supplied Orange or Purple in colour depending on availability.
Key Features
- No water is needed to apply Ecoplug Max®, vastly reducing required labour.
- 95-100% efficacy on treated stumps, preventing regrowth.
- Safe to transport loosely.
- Compact and takes up very little storage
- It is 100% selective which eliminates the risk of damage to surrounding trees or vegetation.
- Minimises the risk of the operator coming into contact with chemical.
- Better for the environment and wildlife.
- Ecoplugs mark treated stumps; liquid glyphosates require marker dye to highlight treated stumps.
- Meets requirements of Sustainable Use Directive to minimise herbicide use and the Water Framework Directive to prevent contamination of waterways with pesticides.
- Use in all weather, all year round - most glyphosates have a much smaller application window.
- Significantly reduces the cost of clearing trees by reducing the need for follow up site visits.
How to Apply Ecoplug Max®
Step 1: Cut the tree as close to the ground as possible.
Step 2: Drill 25-30 mm deep & 13 mm wide using the Ecoplug drill bit to control the depth (the Ecoplug drill bit has a stop plate at 30 mm allowing precise depth control).
Step 3: Place an Ecoplug in the hole with the orange end first. The top will protrude by about 10 mm.
Step 4: Hit the Ecoplug with a hammer until the head is flush with the stump to push out the sides & release herbicide.
