Discover the vibrant Dracaena fragrans 'Lemon Lime', commonly known as the Lemon Lime Corn Plant. This standout Dracaena variety boasts elongated, striped leaves in electrifying shades of green and vibrant lime, making it an eye-catching addition to any indoor space or garden.
Sizing
Discover our premium offering: the "Grower's Pick.” This exceptional plant selection stands out as the most sizable option available, featuring the tallest and most robust plant we can ship. Each “Grower’s Pick” is meticulously chosen for its advanced maturity, ensuring a developed root structure for superior growth and vitality.
How to Grow
The 'Lemon Lime' prefers bright, indirect sunlight but is adaptable to a range of light conditions, including low light areas. It thrives in well-draining potting mix and should be planted in containers with proper drainage holes. Ideally suited for USDA zones 10-12, this plant enjoys warmth but can handle occasional cooler temperatures.
Care Tips
Water the Corn Plant when the top inch of soil feels dry, ensuring you don't over-water. The 'Lemon Lime' has drought-tolerant properties once established. To maintain the vibrant color of the leaves and prevent them from browning at the tips, consider keeping the humidity levels up, either by misting or using a humidity tray.
Uses
The striking coloration of the Dracaena fragrans 'Lemon Lime' makes it a popular choice for brightening up living areas, offices, or shaded patios. Its upright growth habit allows it to fit seamlessly into tight corners, and its known air-purifying qualities make it both a beautiful and functional plant choice.
Planting Tips
When potting, select a container with good drainage and use a potting mix with added perlite or sand for enhanced drainage. Position the plant away from direct sunlight to prevent potential leaf burn.
Maintenance
To keep its foliage glossy and bright, clean the leaves occasionally with a damp cloth, removing dust and pollutants. Trim away any old or yellowing leaves to promote new growth and maintain its aesthetic appeal.
Pests and Diseases
Watch out for common pests such as mealybugs, spider mites, and scale. These can be treated using insecticidal soaps or neem oil applications. Ensure the plant isn't waterlogged and that there's adequate air circulation around it to reduce the risk of root rot or fungal infections.
Note: Although visually pleasing, Dracaena fragrans 'Lemon Lime' can be toxic to pets when ingested. It's recommended to place it in an area inaccessible to pets if they are prone to nibbling on plants.
