🌞 Light

  • Indoors: Bright, indirect light. Can tolerate some direct sun, but too much may scorch leaves.

  • Outdoors: Full sun to partial shade. Young plants prefer some afternoon shade until established.

💧 Watering

  • Drought-tolerant; allow soil to dry out between waterings.

  • Overwatering is the most common cause of problems.

  • Water less in winter when growth slows.

🌱 Soil

  • Needs well-draining soil.

  • Mix standard potting soil with sand or perlite, or use cactus/succulent mix.

  • Avoid heavy, water-retentive soils.

🌡️ Temperature & Humidity

  • Prefers warm climates (65–85°F / 18–29°C).

  • Low humidity is fine; dragon trees are hardy in arid conditions.

🌿 Fertilizing

  • Use a balanced liquid or slow-release fertilizer during growing season (spring–summer).

  • Avoid over-fertilizing; once a month is usually enough indoors, less outdoors.

✂️ Pruning & Growth

  • Slow-growing; develops branching “dragon” shape as it matures.

  • Remove dead or yellowing leaves at the base.

  • Can be shaped lightly, but avoid heavy pruning.

🪴 Container vs. Ground

  • Outdoor planting: Can grow very large, up to 20–30 feet tall.

  • In pots: Stays smaller, ideal for indoors or patios; repot every few years.

⚠️ Pests & Problems

  • Generally pest-resistant. Occasionally affected by mealybugs or scale.

  • Root rot is the main problem — caused by overwatering or poor drainage.

  • Leaf tips may brown if over-fertilized or exposed to dry air.

🌟 Tips

  1. Dragon trees are very slow-growing, so patience is key.

  2. Mature trees produce red resin (dragon’s blood) when cut.

  3. Avoid moving large outdoor trees once established, as they don’t like root disturbance.

Not recommended
Scent: Earthy, Nutty, Refreshing, Size: 4.06 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
Not the batana oil you should be buying. No this isn’t the one. Definitely don’t recommend it. It has no that coffee smell of the real batana oil and has extra chemical ingredients and makes it runny almost like a liquid oil. I made a mistake buying it.

Has no oily scent.
Scent: Earthy, Nutty, Refreshing, Size: 4.06 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
Just started using it. Smells like oil not over powering. The quality is rich and it’s not runny oily. For the size of it’ll last couple months. Worth the price.

Great For Dry Hair
I've never tried Batana Oil before, so I had no idea what to expect. It's a great oil for my hair. I love that it is all-natural oil and is more like a paste. It spreads easily on my hair. I love that I can put a tiny bit on my finger and rub it directly into my dry scalp. The oil has an interesting but pleasant smell. It's hard to describe. It reminds me a bit of a cross between coffee and cacao, but more nutty and mild. I like it. It's not too strong. The directions say to apply and leave in for 20 minutes, then wash out with a sulfate-free shampoo. I like to leave it in my hair for a day or two before washing it again. It's a great conditioning oil for dry and damaged hair. It might feel heavy on fine or thin hair, but I like it on my medium-thick hair. The only reason I dropped this a star is that I'm dubious of the claim that it promotes hair growth. I think it helps my dry hair from breaking off, but I don't think it can do much for most hair loss. However, for hair conditioning, this is definitely a five star product.
