This elegant antique French hanging jardinière from the late 19th century features a gracefully tapered shape and simple, understated design. Made from terracotta with a deep, weathered black finish, it reveals warm terracotta tones beneath where the patina has naturally worn with age, lending rich visual depth and authenticity. The classic fluted bowl form is crowned with subtle molded floral detailing along the rim and base, showcasing refined yet restrained ornamentation. It hangs gracefully on three long, timeworn iron chains- though not original- that enhance its rustic, authentic character.
Hanging planters like this were prized in French gardens and conservatories for their light, airy presence, adding a delicate vertical element that brought planted greenery closer to view.
This jardinière will look wonderful filled with trailing ivy or sculptural succulents, whether on a sun-dappled patio, covered porch, or in an airy interior corner, bringing an intriguing touch of period drama and decorative flair to your space.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
Approx. overall 8¾" high x 11¾" diameter

Favorite childhood book
Format: Board book, Format: Board book
The Rainbow Fish was my absolute favorite book when I was little, so I had to get it for my kids too. The sparkly scales are still just as magical as I remembered and honestly make the whole book feel special.
The story is sweet, the illustrations are beautiful, and it’s one of those classic children’s books that actually sticks with you growing up. Reading it now feels really nostalgic for me, and my kids love looking at all the shiny pages. Such a cute book to have in your collection.
