Monstera Deliciosa is the plant that started the houseplant movement — and it still earns every bit of that reputation. Its large, glossy leaves develop their iconic natural splits and holes as the plant matures, creating a look that is instantly recognizable and impossible to replicate artificially. It grows fast, makes a bold statement, and is genuinely easy to keep happy.
Good for beginners? Absolutely. Monstera Deliciosa is one of the most forgiving large houseplants you can own. It tolerates a range of light conditions, bounces back from missed waterings, and practically grows itself.
Safe for cats and dogs? Monstera is toxic to pets if ingested. Keep out of reach of cats and dogs, or explore our pet-safe plant collection.
Light needs: Thrives in bright to medium indirect light. Will survive in lower light but grows more slowly and produces fewer splits. Avoid direct sun which can scorch the leaves.
Care at a glance: Water when the top 2 inches of soil are dry. Feed monthly in spring and summer. Wipe leaves with a damp cloth to keep them glossy. Provide a moss pole or trellis as it matures to encourage larger leaves.
Ships fresh from one of our two greenhouse locations, healthy and established in a nursery pot. Covered by our 30-Day Plant Guarantee — if it arrives damaged, we replace it. Free shipping on orders $149+.
