The Showstopper for Your Indoor Collection
The Exotica Scindapsus (Scindapsus pictus 'Exotica') is a breathtaking houseplant cherished for its oversized, heart-shaped leaves adorned with bold silver variegation. Unlike its smaller-leaved relatives, such as ‘Argyraeus’ or ‘Silvery Ann,’ Exotica features dramatic splashes of silver on a deep green canvas, creating a striking visual impact. Its versatility as a trailing or climbing plant makes it a centerpiece in any indoor jungle, whether cascading from a hanging basket or climbing a trellis.
What Makes Exotica Unique?
Larger-Than-Life Leaves
Exotica’s leaves are larger and broader than other Scindapsus pictus varieties, with bold, silver patterns that stand out in any collection.
High-Impact Variegation
The silver variegation on Exotica is more pronounced and covers a greater portion of the leaves compared to varieties like ‘Argyraeus,’ making it a favorite among plant enthusiasts.
Vigorous Growth Habit
This variety grows quickly and can trail or climb up to 3 feet or more, creating a lush and dramatic display.
Plant Profile
- Botanical Name: Scindapsus pictus 'Exotica'
- Common Names: Exotica, Satin Pothos
- Pronunciation: skin-DAP-sus PIK-tus
- Family: Araceae
- Native Range: Southeast Asia
Exotica Scindapsus Care Guide
Light Requirements
- Prefers bright to medium indirect light to maintain its vibrant variegation.
- Can tolerate lower light, but foliage may lose its silver markings.
Watering
- Water thoroughly, allowing the top 1-2 inches of soil to dry out between waterings.
- Adjust watering frequency during winter or if placed in cooler environments.
Humidity
- Thrives in higher humidity levels (above 50%) but adapts to average indoor humidity.
- Consider misting or using a humidifier to enhance growth.
Temperature
- Ideal range: 60-85°F.
- Protect from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.
Soil
- Use a well-draining potting mix with ingredients like peat moss and perlite to prevent root rot.
Fertilizing
- Fertilize monthly during the growing season (spring and summer) with a diluted water-soluble fertilizer.
Pruning and Propagation
- Prune to remove damaged leaves and encourage fuller growth.
- Propagate easily via stem cuttings in water or moist soil.
Growth Habit
- Trails beautifully from hanging baskets or climbs when provided with a trellis or moss pole.
Pests and Toxicity
- Resilient to most pests but monitor for common houseplant issues such as spider mites or mealybugs.
- Toxic to humans and pets if ingested due to calcium oxalate crystals.
How to Differentiate Exotica from Other Scindapsus Varieties
- Silvery Ann: Features smaller, more heart-shaped leaves with irregular silver patches. In contrast, Exotica has larger, more dramatic leaves with bold and consistent variegation.
- Argyraeus: Known for its smaller leaves with fine, speckled silver spots, Argyraeus has a more delicate appearance compared to the bold and robust Exotica.
- Silver Satin: Similar to Exotica but with less pronounced variegation and a more subdued silver finish.
Why Choose Exotica Scindapsus?
- Show-Stopping Foliage: Its oversized, variegated leaves are a statement piece in any plant collection.
- Easy Care: Perfect for beginners and experienced plant parents alike, requiring minimal maintenance.
- Versatility: Whether trailing or climbing, Exotica adds depth and drama to your indoor spaces.
Native Habitat and History
Exotica Scindapsus originates from the tropical rainforests of Southeast Asia, where it grows as an understory plant. Its large leaves and silver variegation evolved to reflect low light and optimize photosynthesis in its natural environment. This cultivar has been a staple in indoor gardening since its introduction in the late 20th century, celebrated for its beauty and adaptability.

Quality & Comfort with Fully Adjustable Support
Team Name: Eden, Size: Queen, Color: Classic
I used to buy pricey, handmade, 100% down pillows—until I learned about the cruelty behind down production. I stopped using down entirely: pillows, comforters, jackets, everything. Then began the long search for something that could at least come close to the comfort of down, I tried Tempur and countless others, but nothing came close.
As a side sleeper, I need a pillow that’s high, SOFT, supportive, conforming, and huggable. After wasting money on at least five different pillows, I finally tried the Coop Home Goods Eden Pillow because of its adjustability. The cover is kind of thick, soft, and well‑made (I use a nice cotton pillow cover over it). The filling is soft and high quality. You can customize the height and firmness however you like. It even comes with plenty of extra fill.
To my surprise, the shredded foam doesn’t make the pillow clumpy—something every other similar pillow I tried struggled with. The surface stays smooth and soft, and it’s been a total game‑changer. It’s a keeper! I’ve had mine for almost four years now and only needed to add more filling once, about 8–10 months ago. Toss it in the dryer on low with a couple of tennis balls, and it fluffs up like new. And the icing on the cake: outstanding customer service.
I highly recommend this pillow and will definitely buy it again

Nothing like the original Eden, don’t buy the name
Team Name: Eden Cool+, Size: King, Color: Classic
I’ve had the original Coop Eden for 5+ years and it has been a great pillow, very comfortable, soft but supportive but when I purchased a new mattress I wanted to refresh my pillow and saw the Eden Cool+ and wanted to give it a try. I figured it could only be better than the original Eden…but it is not. While the outer cover is noticeably cooler to the touch, it is not soft like the Eden. Also, this cool material mostly gets negated if you use a pillow case anyway. The shaped fill material I would also say is “lumpier” for lack of a better word than the shredded material in the original. The combination of the harder, less supple outer casing and the lumpy material just aren’t a good combination. I will say it does sleep slightly cooler than the original Eden but not enough for the sacrifice in comfort. I would absolutely consider going back to the original Eden.

Unmatched Pillow with Unmatched Customer Service!!! 5 STAR ALL AROUND
Team Name: Eden Cool+, Size: King, Color: Classic
## A Dream Come True (and Customer Service to Match!)
From the moment I first laid my head on the Coop Eden Cool+ pillow, I knew I'd found something special. It's truly a game-changer for hot sleepers like me. The "Cool+" technology isn't just a gimmick; it actually works to keep my head and neck comfortably cool throughout the night, leading to the most refreshing sleep I've had in years. The adjustable fill is brilliant, allowing me to customize the loft perfectly for my sleep style, which means no more waking up with neck pain. The support is fantastic – it cradles my head without feeling too firm, and it holds its shape beautifully.
However, what truly elevates my experience to a full five stars, beyond the exceptional product itself, is the **dedicated and outstanding customer service**. I had a minor issue with my initial pillow (a rare manufacturing defect, which can happen with any product). I reached out to Coop Home Goods, and their response was nothing short of phenomenal. They were incredibly prompt, empathetic, and went above and beyond to resolve the issue swiftly and completely. They genuinely cared about my satisfaction and ensured I was left with a perfect product.
It's rare to find a company that not only produces a superior product but also stands behind it with such integrity and genuine concern for their customers. The Coop Eden Cool+ pillow is an investment in your sleep, and knowing that you're backed by such an incredible customer service team makes it an even easier decision. Highly, highly recommend!

So comfy
Size: King (Pack of 1), Style: Standard Loft (4" - 5")
I spent time looking up/watching videos on pillows for neck pain and this one comes up a lot. I’m someone that used to wake up every few weeks with a stiff neck so bad it could make me cry at work. I haven’t had that happen once after months of using this pillow. I look forward to laying my head down on it every night. It’s a luxury experience every time. I think what it does so well is maintain its shape. You can really squish it up how you want and it stays there even after hours. Moldable but somehow still firm. It’s expensive but to me the value is there because I no longer get crazy neck pain from sleep. Worth trying it out for sure. Btw I was stuck between this is and Purple brands couple top end options. I never got around to trying them because I tried this one first and was very satisfied!
Feb 2026. Still use it every night and it's still protecting me from neck pain I used to get from sleeping. It's held up amazing. Hope to use it for many more years.
