Nepenthes Seed
The Freshest Seed Around
Each pack contains roughly 40 seeds. We only store seed for a maximum of about four months before it is removed from the site. Each seed listing clearly shows the month it was collected.
Bring home the wonder of carnivorous plants with our premium Nepenthes seed, carefully harvested and handled to ensure maximum freshness and viability. These exotic seeds give you the chance to grow your very own tropical pitcher plants from the very beginning, watching each stage of development from tiny sprout to elegant, insect-catching beauty.
Seed Guarantee
While I cannot guarantee individual success with germination, I only sell seed that looks fresh and viable to me. If I also fail to achieve success with a batch, you are welcome to message me about six months later and I will help you choose some new seed that is available.
Features
- Freshly Collected — Sourced at peak ripeness for the highest germination potential.
- Rare & Exotic — Perfect for collectors, hobbyists, or anyone fascinated by carnivorous plants.
- Grow at Home — Suitable for indoor or greenhouse cultivation with proper care.
- Sustainably Harvested — All of the seed we sell is greenhouse-bred.
Why Choose Our Nepenthes Seed?
Unlike older or improperly stored seeds, our Nepenthes seeds are fresh—a crucial factor since their viability declines quickly with time. This means you’ll have the best chance of sprouting healthy plants and enjoying the full experience of nurturing one of nature’s most fascinating species.
Growing Tips
- Use a well-draining, low-nutrient medium such as sphagnum moss.
- Provide high humidity and bright, filtered light.
- Be patient—Nepenthes seeds can take several weeks or even months to germinate, but the reward is well worth the wait.
Care Requirements
Light — Bright indirect light. Avoid intense direct midday sun.
Water — Pure water only, under 50ppm dissolved solids. Keep soil consistently moist but never waterlogged. Do not use the tray method.
Soil — Well-draining mix of live sphagnum, perlite, or coco coir. Avoid heavy peat mixes.
Temperature — Highland species: days 70–80°F, nights 45–60°F. Lowland species: warm year-round, 75–90°F. Check your specific plant's requirements.
Humidity — 70–90% preferred. A greenhouse, grow tent, or humid windowsill works well.
Dormancy — Not required. Nepenthes grow year-round with consistent conditions.
