Gaia Green Power Bloom 2-8-4 | Happy Hydro

High phosphorus for the flowering stage. Same simplicity as All Purpose, tuned for bloom.

Gaia Green Power Bloom 2-8-4 is the flowering counterpart to All Purpose 4-4-4. Where All Purpose handles vegetative growth, Power Bloom delivers 8% phosphorus and 4% potassium from 14 organic ingredients to support flowering, fruiting, and root development. Top-dress once a month during bloom, or blend it with All Purpose at the transition. Organic growers have relied on this exact two-product system for over 20 years.

Liquid PK boosters vs. Gaia Green Power Bloom 2-8-4
Liquid PK Boosters
  • Another bottle to buy on top of your base nutrients
  • Measure and mix at every watering during flower
  • Easy to overshoot and lock out other nutrients
  • Salt-based P and K build up and require flushing
  • No secondary nutrients or trace minerals included
  • Feeds the plant directly, bypasses soil biology
Gaia Green Power Bloom
  • One product replaces PK booster, bloom base, and supplements
  • Top-dress once a month, water normally in between
  • Slow-release formula is forgiving, hard to burn at recommended rates
  • Organic inputs, no salt buildup, no flush required
  • 4.5% calcium, 2.3% sulfur, plus trace minerals from rock dust and greensand
  • Microbes break down ingredients on demand, nutrients stay in the root zone
High P, moderate K, low N: built for the demands of flower

8% phosphorus from four different sources 2% N, 8% P, 4% K

Bone meal, mineralized phosphate, fishbone meal, and rock phosphate each release at different speeds. That spread ensures phosphorus availability from the first week of flower through the final weeks of fruit set.

Low nitrogen, mostly slow-release, to avoid excess foliage in bloom

Only 2% total nitrogen, and 75% of that is water-insoluble (the opposite of All Purpose). This means a slow, steady background feed of nitrogen without the vegetative push that flowering plants don't need.

4.5% calcium and 2.3% sulfur already included

Calcium demand spikes during flower, especially around weeks 3 to 5. Bone meal, fishbone meal, and gypsum provide it here without adding a separate cal-mag supplement.

Glacial rock dust and basalt for trace minerals during heavy production

Flowering and fruiting plants pull hard on iron, manganese, and magnesium. Both rock dusts supply these trace elements along with dozens of micronutrients that single-ingredient bloom boosters miss.

Insect frass and humic acid keep the soil food web active through harvest

Late in flower, soil biology can slow down as organic matter gets consumed. Insect frass and humic acid act as food for beneficial microbes so nutrient cycling doesn't stall when plants need it most.

Pairs with All Purpose 4-4-4 for a complete veg-to-harvest system

Use All Purpose 4-4-4 during veg, then transition to Power Bloom at the flip. The two products share the same application rates, so switching is just swapping which tub you reach for.

What the math looks like

Monthly top-dressing in bloom

At 1 tbsp per gallon, a 5-gallon pot uses 5 tbsp per month. A 2 kg tub gives you roughly 7 months of monthly top-dresses for a single 5-gallon pot.

Pre-mixing flower soil

At 3 tbsp per gallon, one 2 kg tub pre-mixes about 60 gallons. That fills twelve 5-gallon pots at under $1.10 per pot.

Full cycle cost (veg + bloom)

One tub of All Purpose ($10.95) plus one tub of Power Bloom ($12.95) covers a full veg-to-harvest cycle for multiple containers. The bundle saves even more.

Compared to liquid bloom boosters

A bottle of Botanicare Hydroplex runs about $20 for 1 quart and still requires a separate base nutrient. One tub of Power Bloom at $12.95 handles the entire flowering stage on its own.

How to use it: transition, bloom, and re-amend

1

Transition at the flip with a 50/50 blend

When plants begin showing flowers, top-dress with a 50/50 mix of All Purpose and Power Bloom at 1 tablespoon per gallon of soil. This provides the phosphorus boost flowering needs while keeping some nitrogen available for the stretch.

2

Switch to 100% Power Bloom for peak flower

After the first top-dress, go full Power Bloom for the remaining bloom applications. Top-dress 1 tablespoon per gallon every 3 to 4 weeks. Scratch lightly into the surface and water in.

3

Stop top-dressing 2 to 3 weeks before harvest

Because dry amendments take about a week to break down, stopping 2 to 3 weeks before harvest lets the plant use what's already in the soil without adding more. No flush protocol needed with organic inputs.

4

Re-amend with All Purpose for the next cycle

After harvest, pull the root ball and re-amend with All Purpose 4-4-4 plus worm castings to reset the soil for veg. Let it cook 2 to 4 weeks, then plant again.

Pick your size and build a complete system
Sizes we carry
  • 500g (1.1 lbs): Trial size, enough to top-dress a few pots for one cycle
  • 2 kg (4.4 lbs): Most popular for home growers, pre-mixes ~60 gallons of soil
  • 10 kg (22 lbs): Multi-cycle supply for serious home or small commercial grows
  • 20 kg (44 lbs): Best per-pound value, covers large gardens or commercial operations
Works with
  • Media: Pro-Mix, Fox Farm Ocean Forest, Roots Organics, coco coir, peat-based mixes, garden soil
  • Plants: Tomatoes, peppers, squash, cucumbers, fruiting trees, flowering ornamentals, and any crop that fruits or flowers
How many tubs do I need? A single 2 kg tub top-dresses a 5-gallon pot monthly for about 7 months. Running four 5-gallon pots through a 10-week flower? One 2 kg tub covers it.

Frequently asked questions
Power Bloom is designed for the flowering stage. It has only 2% nitrogen, which isn't enough to carry most plants through vegetative growth. For a complete veg-to-harvest system, start with All Purpose 4-4-4 during veg and switch to Power Bloom when flowering begins. Some growers pre-mix a small amount of Power Bloom into their starting soil alongside All Purpose so phosphorus is available early for root development, but the majority of Power Bloom usage happens during flower.
Most growers start with a 50/50 blend at the first sign of flowering, then move to 100% Power Bloom for subsequent top-dresses. For autoflowers, some growers start with 70/30 All Purpose to Power Bloom during early veg, then shift to 50/50, then to 70/30 Power Bloom to All Purpose in late bloom. The exact ratio depends on your genetics and how heavy a feeder the plant is. If you're unsure, 50/50 at the transition and 100% Power Bloom after that is the simplest approach.
Yes. Any plant that flowers and fruits benefits from the higher phosphorus and potassium in this blend. Tomatoes, peppers, squash, cucumbers, strawberries, fruit trees, and flowering ornamentals all respond well. The application rate is the same: 1 tablespoon per gallon of soil as a monthly top-dress once the plant begins to flower or set fruit.
Power Bloom has a noticeable fishy, earthy smell when you open the tub and when you first work it into soil. That comes from the bone meal and fishbone meal. The smell fades within a day or two once it's watered in. It won't make your grow room smell long-term, but you'll notice it during application. If you're in a small apartment, apply near an open window.
The non-granulated version is a fine powder blend and is approved for organic agriculture. The granulated version compresses the same ingredients into pellets for easier broadcasting on lawns and large beds, but the granulation process means it is not certified organic. For containers and indoor growing, the non-granulated (powder) version is what most growers use. Happy Hydro carries the non-granulated, organic-approved blend.
Stop top-dressing about 2 to 3 weeks before you plan to harvest. Since dry amendments take roughly a week to break down and become plant-available, stopping early lets the plant finish using what's already in the soil. Unlike salt-based nutrients, organic amendments don't require a flush. The plant will naturally use up the remaining available nutrients during those final weeks.

delightful read
Format: Kindle
What a delightful read. The characters are awesome, the plot was so good, I loved it. I was intrigued and it kept me wanting more. Told in multiple pov, the book sucks you in and doesn’t let go. I cannot wait to read the next book.

not bad
Format: Kindle
I loved the plot of this book. The characters just didn’t have a lot of depth. The connections and “love” just weren’t communicated very well in the writing. The author didn’t write the sweet psycho trope very well at all either. Lachlan was just a mess of a character.

In Spare, Violet Fox flips the omegaverse on its head, giving us a Beta heroine determined to make her mark. Joining the Beta Trials to support her sick father, she's thrown into a pack that doesn't want her, especially the possessive Alphas. But here's the twist: their sweet Omega turns out to be her scent match. Cue the angst, forbidden tension, and a slow-burn romance that will make your heart ache in the best way. Violet Fox delivers an emotional, refreshing take on the genre, proving Betas aren't "spares." They're stars.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.
