Leaves can grow up to 3 feet long, but luckily it has medium growth rate making it easier to control. The current leaf is juvenile and will change shape as an adult. You can also grow it in a hanging basket, in pots or even as ground cover or up a tree (latter two, in the right zone - 9b-11)
Use a good quality fertilizer for optimal growth. If you use slow-release apply it 2-3 times per year. Be weary of cheaper fertilizers with too much salt in the composition.
