Handcrafted in small batches, our bar soaps are naturally made and have a distinctive appearance. Shampoos can contain harsh detergent cleansers that strip hair of its natural oils, dry out the scalp leaving hair dull and lifeless. As a true soap our bars contain no SLS, parabens or petroleum based or synthetic ingredients. Soap Cauldron hair care products support hair health, moisturizing and nourishing hair from the roots to the tips. Indulge your hair naturally for fabulous, full, shiny, healthy hair.

How to Use

Three Sisters Apothecary Shampoo Bars are a true soap that cleans hair differently by gently cleansing and hydrating with a fluffy, super-rich lather. Most liquid shampoos contain synthetic detergents which strip hair of everything from the daily dirt buildup to natural healthy oils, leaving hair dull and lifeless. This can cause scalp dryness, resulting in flaking and a limp quality to the hair shaft itself. Our shampoo bars are free of synthetic ingredients and utilize key actives to support hair health leaving it radiant and deeply hydrated.

Shampoo Bars do require a transition period, but hair will adapt over time so don’t give up if your hair acts differently during the ‘detoxifying’ process when accumulated synthetics are being removed. A vinegar or lemon rinse daily or 3x a week will remove existing buildup. Once hair has adjusted, continue with weekly vinegar rinses to keep hair pH balanced, prevent tangles, and remove buildup.

Step 1: Thoroughly saturate hair with warm water.

Step 2: Build a rich lather in your hands and apply to hair.

Step 3: Work from root to tip. Go easy to avoid residue build-up.

Step 4: Rinse, rinse, rinse! Once hair is rinsed, rinse it again. A good rinse removes any product left in hair and makes it easier to comb. After rinsing, hair may feel sticky which is normal as alkaline levels have been raised, causing the hair shaft to swell. An acidic rinse, like apple cider vinegar or diluted lemon juice will help close the hair cuticle and prevent tangling.

Step 5: Our hair-type specific conditioning oils complement our shampoo bars perfectly. They are extremely versatile and can be used in several ways including as a hot oil treatment, a wash out conditioner and as a styling oil.

Hot Oil: Warm the bottle in a dish of warm water, always test the oil against the wrist to make sure it is a comfortable temperature. Apply to hair from roots to tips and wrap hair. Allow to sit in hair for 20 minutes prior to washing out.

Conditioner: Apply to hair following shampoo bar, work from roots to tips and then rinse with warm water.

Styling Aid: Pour a small amount of hair oil into hands and work through hair from roots to ends to replenish healthy hair oil balance.

To apply as a Hot oil or a Styling Aid hair does not need to be freshly washed. Remember as a styling aid a little goes a long way so use sparingly and really work through your strands to condition lightly.

A Match Made in Heaven
Format: Hardcover
Marjorie Woollacott has provided the world with an incredible opportunity. The opportunity of merging two parallel universes; the scientific exploration of the brain, mind, consciousness, and awareness with the inner journey of one’s spiritual path of yoga and meditation. Marjorie has had her feet firmly walking the path of science and meditation for over 40 years. She gives her readers what they have been wanting for decades which is a readable resource to understand the complex scientific research of neuroscience and to understand the ancient texts of yoga and meditation. She eloquently explains to the readers how these two worlds were so far apart, and are now communicating and working together to solve the glorious mysteries of the mind, the brain and meditation. This is a match made in heaven. Deep exploration of the mental and spiritual bodies allow the readers to revel in these mysteries and begin to appreciate the unlimited vastness of a human birth. I loved this book and bought the Kindle version, but now realize this is a book I need to have in print so I can easily revisit sections which are worth future contemplation.

An award-winning book exploring the relationship of science and spirituality
Format: Hardcover
This highly engaging, award-winning book is the best introduction for non-specialists that I’ve come across that offers an intelligent alternative to the existential meaningless implicit in the materialist paradigm. Woollacott, a recently retired neuroscientist, takes readers on her quest to reconcile the objective world of her scientific study with the meditation experiences of her personal life. For most of her career, Woollacott kept her subjective experiences separated from scientific work. Having now retired from active scientific research, she now explains in this book how she came to construct a coherent worldview which synthesizes quantum physics, Hindu philosophy, and her own meditation practice. Having read numerous books in this genre, I most appreciated her intelligent exposition of scientific studies for the non-specialist, explaining how she came to favor panpsychism over materialism, all framed within her own life-long journey towards answering life’s biggest questions. I will gladly return to this book frequently as I try to help students consider an alternative to the materialist paradigm.

An Indispensable Guide to the Scientific Argument about the Primacy of Consciousness throughout the Universe!
Format: Hardcover
I couldn't put down this book! It's a fascinating account of one scientist's personal and professional journey to the heart of the mind/brain problem: which is primary? Marjorie Woollacott's account of her own scholarly research and her attempts to integrate her profound experiences of perfect awareness through the path of meditation is a tale for our times. She clearly shows the deficiencies of the current scientific model that postulates that awareness is only a function of brain activity, but more than that she integrates modern physics, in the form of quantum mechanics, with the ancient wisdom of the seers of her chosen spiritual tradition, Kashmir Shaivism, and voila! shows them to be identical in essence, if not in expression. As more people pursue meditation practice as a way to generate deep insights into consciousness, Dr. Woollacott's book is an indispensable guide to the contemporary scientific discussion around these issues. The case studies are moving and her personal journey is just as bold as her scientific work must be. This is "the book of a lifetime" for her, the culmination of years of research, study and contemplation. Bravo!

Woollacott has done an amazing job of beginning to document the nature of the ...
Format: Hardcover
Ms. Woollacott has done an amazing job of beginning to document the nature of the conscious substrate that forms the very foundation of our existence, and she does so in a scientifically responsible fashion. An endeavor of this nature by a professional scientist takes not a small amount of courage because this is a topic that is ignored and often ridiculed by many mainstream scientists. The fact that we have attained a large body of evidence that points ineluctably to the reality of non-corporeal consciousness in the universe is enough to warrant serious investigations into this phenomenon, and hopefully this erudite work and others like it will spur further scholarly investigations into this subject of overarching importance. As an added bonus this book is a thoroughly enjoyable and stimulating read; it's hard to put down once you start reading. This is must read for all people who are curious about the ultimate nature of their being, and by all rights that should include everyone.
