Dracaena fragrans ‘Tornado’ – Spiraling, Variegated Foliage
Add a unique twist to your plant collection with Dracaena fragrans ‘Tornado’, a striking variety known for its dramatic spiral growth pattern. Its dark green leaves curl gracefully around the stem, creating a dynamic, swirling shape that stands out in any room. Each leaf features bright greenish-yellow variegation along the edges, adding dimension and vivid contrast to its sculptural form.
Care Needs:
- Light: Prefers bright, indirect light to maintain its bold variegation. Tolerates medium light but may lose some coloring in low light. Keep out of harsh direct sun to avoid leaf burn.
- Water: Allow the top 1–2 inches of soil to dry before watering again. Overwatering is a common issue—ensure proper drainage. Water less in winter.
- Humidity & Temperature: Average indoor humidity is sufficient. Ideal temperatures are 65–80°F (18–27°C). Protect from cold drafts.
- Soil & Fertilizer: Plant in a well-draining potting mix. Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer.
- Maintenance: Remove any yellow or aging leaves to keep the plant looking tidy. Rotate the plant occasionally to maintain even growth.
Pet Safety:
Warning: Dracaena fragrans ‘Tornado’ is toxic to cats and dogs if ingested, causing vomiting and drooling. Keep out of reach of pets.
Bring home the dramatic and playful look of Dracaena ‘Tornado’, an easy-care houseplant that adds movement, color, and character to any space.
