Don’t let the delicate appearance fool you—Meadow Anemone (Anemone canadensis) is a robust and hardy native perennial that brings effortless beauty to moist landscapes. Also known as Canada Anemone or Windflower, this vigorous groundcover features solitary, cup-shaped white flowers with contrasting golden centers that sway gracefully above lush, deeply lobed foliage. Blooming from late spring through early summer, it creates a spectacular white carpet that brightens sunny and partially shaded areas.

Confident and adaptable, Meadow Anemone spreads by thick rhizomes to form dense colonies, making it an exceptional choice for filling large spaces, naturalizing river margins, or covering ground in hard-to-mow damp areas. Its foliage remains full and attractive long after the flowers have faded, providing lasting texture. While it looks fragile, this plant is unpalatable to deer and rabbits, ensuring your garden remains lush and blooming despite local wildlife.

Key Features:

  • Spectacular Spring Blooms: Produces abundant 2-inch white flowers with sunny yellow stamens from April to June.
  • Vigorous Groundcover: Spreads confidently via rhizomes to form lush, dense colonies, perfect for suppressing weeds and filling space.
  • Pollinator Friendly: A favorite nectar and pollen source for small native bees, including miner and sweat bees, as well as hoverflies.
  • Deer & Rabbit Resistant: Contains compounds that make the foliage unpalatable and toxic to browsing mammals.
  • Adaptable & Hardy: Thrives in average to wet soils and tolerates full sun (in cool climates) to partial shade.
  • Pollinator-Safe: Grown non-GMO and free of harmful neonicotinoids, promoting a healthy ecosystem for pollinators and wildlife.

Available in sets of three, six, or 12 plants to suit gardens of any size.

Why Choose Meadow Anemone?

Meadow Anemone is the perfect problem-solver for gardeners looking to fill moist, difficult areas with low-maintenance beauty. Its ability to spread quickly makes it an ideal "living mulch" for rain gardens, ditches, and shoreline buffers. Beyond its utility, it offers high ecological value by supporting small pollinators and resisting deer pressure. If you have a damp, sunny spot where you want a naturalized, wildflower look, this plant is an excellent candidate.

Planting Tips:

  1. Location: Prefers moist, humus-rich soil in partial shade. In cooler climates, it tolerates full sun if the soil remains moist. Protect from strong winds to prevent stems from breaking. Give this plant room to roam. It can be aggressive in optimal conditions, so place it where it can spread freely or use barriers to contain it.
  2. Watering: Water regularly to establish. This plant loves moisture and thrives in wet ditches, flood plains, and low meadows.
  3. Maintenance: Minimal care required. Foliage remains lush post-bloom. If desired, divide plants in the fall to manage colony size and increase blooms.

Safety Note: Wear gloves when handling or dividing the plant, as the fresh sap can cause skin irritation or blistering.

Huge!
Size: Whole Ears (Pack of 60)
I always bought pig ears at Costco until they quit carrying them. My dogs were addicted at that point, and anything comparable was more than double the price. I ordered a few different brands on Amazon and they were either tiny, or the picture didn’t match what was delivered. I have a Rottweiler. He eats these like potato chips. I read reviews for these that were negative and was hesitant to buy them because of the negative reviews. My only complaint is that I also have a Basset Hound, and she buries these in my house because they’re too big for her to eat at one time.

💔My dogs are throwing up and diarrhea BLOOD!
Size: Whole Ears (Pack of 22)
Salmonella I have 5 dogs. On Thursday, July 17, I received a package of pig ears from this company. This was not the first time my dogs had pig ears but it was the first time I purchased from you. My dogs were each given a pig ear. Within 24 hours, all of my dogs were throwing up and diarrhea. By Saturday, all 5 of my dogs were throwing up straight blood and diarrhea straight blood!!! Puddles! It was horrifying and looked like a crime scene in my house!!! My husband and I were hysterical! My dogs were so weak and lethargic, and sick! 4 of my dogs are under 10lbs and were in the emergency vet getting an IV and fighting for life, as well as my 10 year old American Staff rescue who has a weak immune system because she fought heartworms a year and a half ago before we adopted her. It is currently Monday morning and our nightmare hasn't ended! My husband and I, both work, and have literally not slept since! 24 hours a day we are cleaning up after dogs - vomit, diarrhea, and tons of it! From each! Last night my smallest dachshund threw up 16 times in 15 minutes - on my bed, lap, floor, everywhere! Blood! We are torn- are lives are shattered! In the blink of an eye all because we thought we were spoiling our dogs and giving them a treat! Now they are fighting for life! We have spent thousands at the emergency vet for all of them! We still don't know if they are going to make it! We are so devastated and feel so helpless watching them! We try to console them but how do you console all 5 at once and what do you do when they don't understand & they are so weak and miserable and blood is coming out of their bodies faster than you can clean it! I think it is important for people to be aware! After researching, I found out that this company had a salmonella outbreak across 45 states in 2019.

Dogs love them but they are small.
Size: Half-cut (Pack of 50), Size: Half-cut (Pack of 50)
They are good quality but probably shouldn’t be marketed toward medium size dogs. A good portion of them are very small which is disappointing.
