The Fukien Tea Bonsai, scientifically known as Carmona retusa or Ehretia microphylla, is a delightful bonsai species native to the Fujian province of China, as well as parts of Japan, Indonesia, Taiwan, and Australia. This bonsai is prized for its ability to thrive indoors, its small, shiny, dark green leaves, and the tiny white flowers that can bloom year-round in the right conditions. The Fukien Tea Bonsai also produces small, round, red to black berries, adding to its ornamental appeal. Its bark, which becomes cracked and textured with age, adds an element of rugged beauty, making it a highly sought-after specimen for bonsai enthusiasts.
