Our premium blend ensures excellent drainage while maintaining the right level of moisture to keep your Alocasias happy. Through extensive testing, we’ve found that too much coco coir can lead to soil compaction, while an excess of perlite or orchid bark can create a mix that’s to airy.

Whats in the mix?

Coco Coir: Coco coir maintains the perfect moisture level, keeping your aroids hydrated and thriving.

Biochar: Helps with soil structure, soil nutrient and water holding capabilities. It also helps to increase an abundance of mycorrhizal and other fungi to assist nutrient uptake.

Coco Chips: Coco chips boost drainage, promoting healthy roots and preventing excessive water retention.

Pine Bark: Our mix of three pine bark grades adds essential nutrients, supports root anchorage, and creates a versatile environment with varying gap sizes.

Perlite: Perlite improves root airflow, ensuring strong, healthy roots and preventing suffocation.

Leca: Clay balls support the root systems, manage pH levels, keep water in them, absorb and release nutrients, and provide aerobic conditions for ideal root growth.

This mix is free of fertilisers, providing a clean, neutral base. For optimal growth, we recommend adding the appropriate fertilisers during your aroids active growing seasons or opting for our slow release fertiliser option.
