Laurus nobilis, commonly known as bay laurel or sweet bay, is a fragrant evergreen shrub or small tree that hails from the Mediterranean region. This iconic plant is famous for its glossy, dark green, lance-shaped leaves that emit a rich, aromatic scent when crushed and are often used as a culinary herb in various dishes. In addition to its culinary significance, bay laurel is also revered for its ornamental value, with a dense and bushy growth habit that can reach heights of up to 40 feet in the wild. It produces small, inconspicuous yellow-green flowers in the spring, which are followed by small, dark purple berries. Bay laurel prefers well-drained soil, plenty of sunlight, and protection from harsh winter conditions. Due to its aesthetic appeal and culinary utility, Laurus nobilis is a cherished addition to gardens and can be grown as a container plant or pruned into topiary shapes.  Zones 7-11

Germination

Germinating Laurus nobilis (bay laurel) seeds can be a rewarding endeavor with these steps. Start by preparing a planting medium consisting of equal parts sand and potting soil or a well-draining seed-starting mix. Plant the seeds about 1/4 inch deep in small pots or trays, ensuring they are adequately spaced. Water the soil thoroughly and cover the pots or trays with a clear plastic lid or plastic wrap to create a humid microenvironment. Place the containers in a warm location with indirect sunlight. Bay laurel seeds can be slow to germinate, often taking several weeks to a few months. Ensure that the soil remains consistently moist but not waterlogged during this period. Once the seedlings have grown large enough and developed a few sets of true leaves, they can be transplanted into larger pots or your garden, ensuring they have well-drained soil and receive plenty of sunlight. Bay laurel is a beautiful and aromatic addition to any garden, and growing it from seed can be a satisfying way to cultivate this versatile plant.

Easy to install, very tough!
Color: White, Size: 16in, Color: White, Size: 16in
Seriously, scoring these shelf stands for $30 feels like an absolute steal! Four chunky wood boards with metal T-brackets that actually feel substantial - way sturdier than those flimsy IKEA ones I used to have. My old cheapo stands warped after half a year, but these hold up like a champ - I've got like 15 heavy textbooks stacked on them right now. Love the little details too: rounded edges so you won't scrape your hands, and rubber grip strips on the bottom. They look legit fancy in my living room as bookshelves and even class up my kitchen herb garden. My friend thought they were some high-end designer furniture! Honestly, the craftsmanship at this price puts my old $60 wooden shelves to shame. Already told my DIY group chat about these - trust me, you can't go wrong!

Color: White, Size: 16in
Set up shelves and not sturdy at all. Followed the instructions perfectly. Very poorly made. I don’t have the box and now I’m stuck with the item. Garbage can here it comes.

There are better floating shelves
Color: Rustic Brwon, Size: 16in
Doesn’t feel very sturdy like other floating shelves I’ve bought, and they slant a little. The anchors and screws that it came with all broke so we had to get our own for it to feel more secure on the wall, but still feels wobbly. Overall, it looks good on the wall after the fact, but won’t be adding too much weight on it.
