ZZ plants (scientifically known as Zamioculcas zamiifolia) are one of the easiest plants to keep alive. They aren't picky about their growing conditions and are forgiving and tolerant in their water needs.
ZZ plants enjoy a range of lighting conditions and are perfectly fine with low light to bright in-direct light. They grow just fine in average indoor temperatures and humidity levels.
One of the only ways to really kill a ZZ plant is by overwatering. From spring to fall water once every two weeks (or when the soil feels dry). Water less frequently in the winter months.
These beautiful emerald green houseplants can reach a mature size of about 2-3' tall. An added benefit is they make a great air purifier and will suck out toxins such as such as xylene, toluene, and benzene.
