Inhalation of French lavender can offer a feeling of peacefulness after a long or difficult day.
Historically, lavender was used as a deodorizer in castles and as an ingredient in smelling salts. It has been used as a cleansing agent since ancient cultures who discovered it growing wild in the Mediterranean hills. Lavender became an important crop in Grasse, France in the 1800's, as the perfume industry began.
