Chicken Garden Heirloom Seed Collection Gift Set (6 varieties for the price of 5)

This collection encompasses my top recommended crops for growing your own nutritious chicken food. I grow all of these crops to significantly cut down on chicken feed costs. Plus my chickens lay better eggs when they have a wide variety of foods to eat, not just feed. This is a great gift idea for new and experienced gardeners alike. The seeds are packaged together in a beautiful printed A6 envelope so it is ready to be gifted (see first photo). By purchasing this pack, your getting a discount at 6 packs of different varieties for the price of 5.

INCLUDED IN THIS COLLECTION

1. Black Tuscan aka Dinosaur aka Lacinato Kale - Out of all the kale varieties I grow, this one lasts the longest. It gets very tall and produces loads of dark leafy green. If your in warmer zones +8, grow your kale and other leafy greens in a spot that gets bright morning sun and afternoon shade.

2. FL Broadleaf Mustard - A heat tolerant mustard green that produces very large and wide leaves.

3. Komatsuna - Another heat tolerant mustard that produces very large and long leaves.

4. Moringa - This is a super food. The leaves are very high in vitamins, minerals, iron, and protein. They thrive in high temperatures, lots of rain, or little rain once established. I just pull stems off the trees and throw it to my chickens. Moringa has so many other uses. I dry the leaves to make a fine powder for tea or to add into smoothies. The leaves can be soaked in water to soften up, mix, and then use an all natural fertilizer. The white flowers are gorgeous and also attract a lot of pollinators to the garden.

5. Red Garnet Amaranth - I love to grow amaranth for both its huge burgundy red flowers and seed for grains. Allow the flowers to go to seed, cut the flower at the stalk, and throw it to the chickens for a healthy grain source. Grain can be dried, threshed, and stored.

6. Mammoth Sunflowers - Instead of buying sunflower seeds grow your own. I selected this variety specifically for feeding chickens because the heads are enormous, often being 12 inches or more in diameter. I allow the flowers to dry out, cut them off the stem, and throw it to my chickens for some extra protein.

Pup loves this!
Color: Blue Puppy, Size: Medium Size 2
My pup loves his soccer balls. These are very durable although if you have a dog that doesn't grasp the concept of using the loops/straps to carry it, teeth could puncture it. They are a good value for the money if your dog likes to chase the ball, I get the smaller size ball for my dog (medium dog). They come with a pump but if you have a bicycle pump or a battery operated pump, it will fill much faster. Ours stay outside and even in the winter, they hold up well, just need a bit more air occasionally to keep it pumped up.

Well that didn't last long!
Color: Blue Puppy, Size: Medium Size 2
He loved it for the 15 minutes it took to destroy it! Cute design, but the material was thin enough to penetrate with his teeth and it was all over in a very short time! He still carries the carcass around and tries to play with it...it's sad. Definitely not for strong chewers.

Decent ball
Color: Blue Puppy, Size: Medium Size 2
Context: I have a busy, anxious Corgi. I like that it came with a pump to air it up. My dog likes the tag feature on it which made the ball easy to carry. She chewed off the tags pretty quick. She didn’t like herding this one as much. She prefers herding a basketball over this ball. The ball sits in the backyard through all the weather and elements and has held up pretty well. We’ve had it about a year and it’s still a good toy.

Easily Ripped apart within minutes
Color: Blue Puppy, Size: Medium Size 2, Color: Blue Puppy, Size: Medium Size 2
I have a new foster who’s only 35 pounds not an aggressive chewer and loves to play with my dogs rooster soccer ball toy but the ball itself is a little big for her to get her teeny little mouth around when she’s trying to carry and run with it this happened to pop up on my feed a size smaller (medium, instead of large ) and available for next day delivery, so I bought it specifically for the little dog to play with. I gave it to her to play outside while my hound is busy playing with one of her toys I went about watering the garden, when I turned around a few minutes later, I saw the ball appeared to be completely flattened. As I walked over, I saw pieces of black rubber on the ground, and then the rest of the ball had a gaping hole in it. The rooster version of the ball that I bought from another seller has been going strong for months with multiple dogs playing with it and chewing on it and ripping the side ribbons apart so either I got a defective toy or the quality of manufacturer from this seller is much lower since the durability of the ball seems to be less than an hour.
