Purple Prickly Pear 'Sapphire Wave' (Opuntia macrocentra) is a hard to find prickly pear cactus growing in the high desert region of central Oregon. It has an upright and wide growing habit, and has large black spine, blue-green pads with purple blushing that bloom large bright yellow flowers with dark red throats! This is one the largest variety of prickly pear cactus we grow and has been growing completely unprotected for decades in the cold high desert region of central Oregon, zone 6b/7a, repeatedly seeing temps below zero and single digit degrees F! These have been planted as far north as Canada surviving temps below -15 degrees F!!

Love these shoes, they're super comfy. Laces stayed tied all day. I wear them in a business casual environment, or if I'm going out for a nice meal with my wife.
