Hidcote is one of those lavenders everyone seems to recognize. It’s famous for its deep, dark purple flowers—some of the darkest you’ll find among English lavenders. When it blooms in early summer, the color alone is enough to stop people in their tracks.
The plant itself grows into a tidy, rounded mound of gray-green foliage. Nothing floppy, nothing wild—just clean, compact growth that fits easily into borders, paths, and formal garden layouts. The flower stems are strong and carry dense spikes that dry beautifully, holding both their color and fragrance long after harvest.
It’s easy to grow, dependable year after year, and just as useful in the garden as it is in dried arrangements.
