Summary: Known for its dramatic pendant leaves, Anthurium Vittarifolium adds rare, cascading rainforest beauty to your indoor jungle with minimal care requirements.
✨ Why You'll Love the Anthurium Vittarifolium
- Long, strap-like green leaves that elegantly cascade downwards
- Perfect for hanging baskets, high shelves, or plant cabinets
- Highly sought-after rare aroid for European collectors
- Moderate growth rate with a refined tropical aesthetic
- Delivered securely in Medium size (approx. 25–40 cm depending on current stock)
🌞 Light & Placement
Thrives in bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sun to prevent leaf scorch. Ideal in greenhouse cabinets or hanging near east or north-facing windows in German apartments.
💧 Water & Humidity
Keep soil evenly moist but not waterlogged. Loves high humidity above 60% – mist regularly or keep in a humidity-controlled cabinet for optimal growth.
🪴 Soil & Potting
Prefers a chunky, airy aroid mix with orchid bark, perlite, and peat or coco coir for moisture retention and drainage. Repot every 1–2 years to refresh nutrients.
🐾 Toxicity & Safety
Toxic to pets if ingested due to calcium oxalate crystals. Keep out of reach of cats and dogs.
🌱 Growth & Propagation
Grows into a long, trailing plant with strap-like leaves that can reach over 1 m in mature specimens. Propagate via stem cuttings with aerial roots in sphagnum moss or water.
📆 Seasonal & Special Care
Reduce watering slightly in winter when growth slows. Fertilise monthly in spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertiliser to support healthy foliage growth.
🐛 Common Issues
Watch for spider mites or thrips, especially in dry conditions. Browning leaf tips often indicate low humidity or inconsistent watering. Clean leaves gently to maintain their elegant appearance.
🧬 Botanical Background
Anthurium Vittarifolium is native to the rainforests of South America. It belongs to the pendant Anthurium group, admired worldwide for its unique cascading leaf form and minimalistic tropical beauty.
