Cuban Bottle Palm, also known as the Yarey Palm and Palma Barrigona, is a popular tropical palm tree that is native to Cuba. It gets its name from the unique bottle-shaped trunk that it develops as it matures. This tree can grow up to 15 feet tall and requires full sunlight to thrive. Great addition for containers in decks or patios. It prefers well-draining soil and moderate watering and is tolerant to drought conditions once established. The Cuban Bottle Palm is also known for being relatively low-maintenance and disease-resistant, making it a great choice for gardeners who want a unique and interesting addition to their landscape.
Prized for its one-of-a-kind look, the Bottle Palm sets itself apart as it matures, this amazing palm becomes more and more bottle-shaped, and a standout silhouette that adds immediate value to gardens. Feather-shaped leaves fronds arch downward, and the “bottle” gains shape. So, you'll watch the Bottle Palm become more interesting and beautiful with age.
Indoors this palm is ideal for people with very little time or who travel regularly. The Bottle Palm will be perfectly happy being watered twice a week and left alone to soak up the bright light.
Outdoors with the Bottle Palm, your garden is a more tropical-inspired oasis. The Bottle Palm only grows 4 to 6 fronds with arched, feather-shaped leaves. This small number of fronds means that the palm won't compete for space, making it a great choice for busy garden beds. This distinct plant brings a little fun to any space in your garden.
