Epiphyllums, are forest cacti with long, flat, zig zag succulent stems These long-lived plants are easy to care for and stand up well to neglect.  

These cacti start out by growing upwards with vertical stems that appear to be notched on either edge. The longer they get, the more they will flop over and start to reach towards the floor rather than the ceiling. The stems grow out in bunches and new shoots appear at regular intervals along the original stem.

These stems have notched margins and can produce delicate aerial roots which grow by creeping along and rooting at various points. This makes them very easy to propagate, which is how this rare plant was spread across the world in the first place.

Epiphyllum Ric Rac Cactus Plant care: 

Soil: Well-draining soil, great drainage. 

Light:  Prefers bright, Indirect light, filtered light.   If you’re not sure whether your specimen is getting the right amount of light, watch out for leaves that are wilted and yellow, or sunburned. These symptoms are signs that the epiphyllum is getting too much sun.

Water:  Water when top third of soil is dry to the touch.  While they do have succulent foliage, they prefer growing conditions that are more moist than their most cactus do.  do. However do not let sit in moisture, allow to dry out between watering.

Not cold hardy tolerant.
