Gilia capitata

Blue gilia is an annual wildflower that grows easily from seed and is hands-down one of the most attractive plants for bumblebees, other native bees, and European honeybees. Stand near a patch of this flowering plant in June and you will literally hear the buzz of a diversity of native bees. It's quite tall, reaching up to three feet and forming dense, spherical, blueish-purple flower heads - each flower head containing up to 100 miniscule flowers! As bees collect the blue pollen, their pollen sacs will turn an amazing deep blue/purple color.

  • Plant type/canopy layer: deciduous, annual, herbaceous plant
  • Size at maturity: 24”-36” tall, 6” wide
  • Light requirements: full sun to part shade
  • Moisture requirements: dry to moist soil, prefers fast to med drainage
  • Bloom time: May - September (June - July in the Portland Metro area)
  • Growth rate/ease: fast growing, moderately easy to grow
  • Wildlife support: flowers attract and provide nectar to hummingbirds, adult butterflies, bees and other insect pollinators; overall plant attracts and supports beneficial and other pest eating insects and is a caterpillar host plant and larval food source for native moths and butterflies
  • Native habitat/range: grows in open, sandy or rocky soils along grassy hillsides, meadows and forest edges and openings, from near sea-level to 2500m in much of western Oregon, California and Washington. Portland Plant List - Yes.
  • Special features & uses: hummingbird and pollinator favorite; drought-tolerant; functions well in bouquets and cut floral arrangements; landscape uses include meadowscapes, pollinator gardens, rock gardens and greenroofs

Gardening with Blue Gilia: Sow seed following the instructions below, in relatively open, sunny areas of your yard. It tolerates clay, but prefers faster drainage, and is exceptionally drought-tolerant, thereby adding color and habitat value to the driest areas of your yard. Pollinators are most attracted to large swaths (i.e. more than 6’x6’) of the same color because most native bees, unlike European honey bees, practice floral fidelity, which means they only forage from one species of plant at a time. Consider contrasting Gilia with other pollinator faves like California poppies, native alliums or showy fleabane for a meadowscape that is truly impressive to insects and gardeners alike.

Seed Packet Contains: approximately 500 seeds

When and How to Sow Seeds: Sow blue gilia in the fall or spring. If sowing in the fall, wait until after the rains have returned.

You can 1) generally broadcast approximately 60 seeds/sq ft, 2) start a small pinch in small garden pots or 3) start "in situ" by pinching little bits of it here and there in blank areas of your sunny garden areas. Simply spread the seeds on the surface of the soil and do not cover. They will require little to no cold stratification. They should germinate and grow into tiny sprouts in the fall, then sit tight without any more growth until spring when they take off. If sowing in spring, the earlier the better as cooler temps may enhance germination.

Helped transfer data from Samsung Galaxy S21 with broken screen.
Color: Black
Helped me transfer data from a Samsung Galaxy S21 with broken screen. Simple put USB C end into phone , grab HDMI cable and plug into hub , then plug HDMI end into a monitor. Then grab a wireless keyboard & mouse and plug dongle into hub. Your phone will output to monitor and you can transfer data via Smart Switch using keyboard & mouse. Will only work if phone is unlocked I found on S21.

Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1): The Swiss Army Knife of Connectivity
Color: Black
Ever felt like your laptop was playing a cruel joke on you with its lack of ports? Enter the Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1)—the tech equivalent of a superhero swooping in to save the day (and your productivity). Port Party This hub is like the ultimate party host: it’s got a little something for everyone. Need to connect an external monitor? Boom, there’s a 4K HDMI port. Want to transfer files faster than a cheetah on a caffeine rush? It’s got two 5 Gbps USB-A ports and a 5 Gbps USB-C data port ready to go. Oh, and don’t worry about keeping your laptop charged while you’re multitasking like a boss—there’s a 100W PD-IN port to keep the power flowing. 4K HDMI: Because Why Settle for Less? Let’s talk about that HDMI port, shall we? We’re talking 4K at 30Hz, which means your Netflix binge or work presentation will look crisp, clean, and oh-so-satisfying. It’s like upgrading from VHS to Blu-ray—you won’t believe you ever survived without it. File Transfers in a Flash Remember the days when transferring files felt like waiting for dial-up internet to connect? Yeah, those days are over. With up to 5 Gbps transfer speeds, you can move files so fast that you’ll barely have time to grab your coffee before it’s done. Just think of all the time you’ll save—and how much more you can procrastinate as a result! Pass-Through Charging: Power Up, Don’t Power Down One of the worst feelings in the tech world is watching your battery icon turn red while you’re in the middle of something important. But fear not—this hub’s got you covered with up to 85W pass-through charging. So, go ahead and keep doing whatever it is you’re doing, whether it’s crushing deadlines or browsing cat memes (no judgment here). Compact and Reliable The Anker 332 USB-C Hub is compact enough to slip into your laptop bag without a second thought. And with an 18-month worry-free warranty, it’s clear that Anker has your back—just in case you get a little too enthusiastic with all those ports. Final Thought In a world where laptops keep losing ports faster than you lose socks in the laundry, the Anker 332 USB-C Hub is the perfect solution. It’s reliable, versatile, and just what you need to bring your laptop back to life. So go ahead—plug in, power up, and let the good times (and files) roll!

Excellent Product - USB C - power and data transfer!
Color: Black
It works great. I used this to connect two USB-C devices: one from the POS printer and another for charging, both connected to my tablet into one USB-C. It solved the biggest issue that I was facing.

Reliable and Versatile Adapter for My MacBook Air
I have a 13-inch MacBook Air, M4, 2025, and I use it for everything: work, watching videos and series, and occasionally gaming. I also regularly attend court hearings and professional meetings through Zoom, Google Meet, and similar platforms, so I cannot afford connection issues. This adapter, especially with its LAN port, has been very useful. It gives me more confidence when attending hearings online because I can rely on a stable wired connection. It also works well while connecting other devices, such as microphones or pen drives, which makes it very versatile. The finish and materials feel solid and high-quality. I used to have a white plastic adapter from another brand, but it ended up changing color with use. This one stays cleaner, looks more professional, and is easier to keep in good condition. It is easy to carry, practical, and very efficient.
