Sand is also great for drainage assistance. Sand lessens risk of compaction. Pumice reduces water runoff and fertilization by increasing soil absorption in sandy soils. Calcined clay can help with drainage and also hold and release nutrients to plant roots with its high cation-exchange capacity.Tips: Remember cacti and succulents don’t like a lot of water. Don’t overwater.
