Madagascar Dragon Tree Plants | Dracaena Marginata

Looking for a modern or architectural houseplant? Dracaena definitely checks that box! Available in a variety of stoneware pots, this Dracaena is a super easy-care plant with an upright, spiky growth and narrow green (or colorful striped) leaves, usually on a single slim trunk. It starts out small, ideal for your desktop, and grows into a statuesque floor plant over time. Are you new to plant parenting? You will absolutely love Dracaena.

Dracaena is a popular plant choice for offices, hotels, and waiting rooms because of its low water usage - if in doubt, err on the side of letting this one dry out before watering it again, and never let it sit around with soggy feet in a drainage saucer. If you travel a lot or forget to water your plants, Dracaena is incredibly forgiving and an excellent choice.

Choose which container you would like. Each plant is rooted in a 3 to 4-inch grower nursery pot. Upgrade to a ceramic pot (pictured) of your color choice with a matching saucer!

Easy to Grow Features:

  • Light: Bright Indirect
  • Water: Low
  • Growth rate: Medium
  • Size: Up to 8’ tall. Trim to desired height

Part of a Set
There are three items available in Wright and Bird's massive work on the New Testament. This is the video that goes with the text and there is also a Workbook.

Video lectures, just as the subtitle promises
I was seduced into buying this set on the basis of NT Wright's reputation and advertising graphics showing Holy Land locations. Consequently, I didn't pay sufficient attention to the subtitle: "The New Testament in Its World: Video Lectures." And "lectures" is exactly what this set delivers. Talking heads, lecturing on the New Testament; sometimes in a studio, sometimes in eastern Mediterranean locations. The content is solid evangelical biblical scholarship. My disappointment is the almost complete lack of engagement with the spectacular settings much of these films are shot in. It seems to me that Wright and his producers missed a real opportunity by failing more explicitly to relate their lecture content to the places where they're standing. I give this set a three-star rating. The lectures are a perfectly fine introduction to the New Testament, if that's what you're looking for -- but you could put them on CDs or MP3s and listen in the car. The graphics add very little to these presentations.

Didn't get a lot out of it
My wife got me this for a Christmas present. Having previously made it through Eusebius' "Proof of the Gospel", she figured I could handle it. I know this is part of Zondervan's Academic product line and as such is not aimed at a general audience. What I discover was that if the audience lacks credentials in Philosophy or Theology, the incessant use of jargon and terminology that would most often only be encountered in a Seminary or Religious College is something I found off-putting.

Respectful Critics
Format: Paperback
Wright and Bird do an excellent job of discussing the New Testament. They offer insights from the most widely held opinions and then offer their own with a multitude of resources. It is an excellent resources within its self.
