Description:
Umbrella Plant, also known as Schefflera Arboricola, is a popular houseplant known for its lush green leaves and distinctive shape. This plant has a compact, bushy growth habit and its leaves are arranged in a fan-like pattern at the top of long, slender stems. The leaves are oval in shape and have a glossy, dark green appearance. Umbrella Plants are native to the tropical rainforests of Taiwan and are often grown as indoor plants in temperate climates.
Plant Care:
- Light: Umbrella Plants prefer bright, indirect light but can tolerate low light conditions. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.
- Water: Water your Umbrella Plant when the top inch of soil is dry. Keep the soil evenly moist but not waterlogged.
- Humidity: Umbrella Plants prefer high humidity, so consider misting them regularly or placing a tray of water near the plant.
- Soil: Umbrella Plants prefer well-draining, slightly acidic soil. Use a potting mix specifically formulated for tropical plants.
- Fertilizer: Feed your Umbrella Plant with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer every 2-4 weeks during the growing season. Reduce fertilizer during the winter months.
- Pruning: Prune your Umbrella Plant as needed to maintain its shape and control its size. Remove any yellow or damaged leaves promptly.
