Growing Vera lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), commonly known as English lavender, from seeds is a rewarding process. Lavender is well-known for its fragrant blooms and is often used for various purposes, including aromatherapy and culinary applications. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to grow Vera lavender from seeds:1. Seed Selection:
2. Planting Time:
Start lavender seeds indoors about 8-12 weeks before the last expected frost date in your area.
Lavender has a slow germination process, so it's essential to start early.
3. Soil Preparation:
Lavender prefers well-draining soil with a slightly alkaline to neutral pH.
Use a soilless seed starting mix or a well-draining potting mix.
4. Sowing Seeds:
Sow lavender seeds on the soil surface and press them down gently. Do not cover them with soil, as lavender seeds require light for germination.
Alternatively, you can lightly press the seeds into the soil or cover them with a thin layer of vermiculite.
5. Watering:
Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Use a misting spray or a gentle watering can to avoid disturbing the seeds.
Once the seedlings emerge, water them at the base to prevent fungal issues.
6. Temperature:
Lavender seeds germinate best at temperatures around 70°F (21°C). Consider using a seedling heat mat to maintain a consistent temperature.
7. Sunlight:
Lavender requires full sun to thrive. Once the seedlings have developed, provide them with at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight each day.
8. Transplanting:
When the lavender seedlings have grown large enough to handle and have developed a couple of sets of true leaves, transplant them into individual pots.
Transplant them into the garden after the danger of frost has passed and the seedlings are well-established.
9. Spacing:
When planting lavender in the garden, space the plants about 12 to 18 inches apart to allow for proper air circulation.
10. Soil in the Garden:
Lavender prefers well-draining soil. If your garden soil is heavy, consider amending it with sand or gravel to improve drainage.
11. Mulching:
Apply a thin layer of mulch around the lavender plants to help retain moisture and control weeds.
12. Pruning:
Prune lavender plants regularly to maintain a compact and bushy shape. Pruning also encourages the production of new growth and flowers.
13. Harvesting:
Harvest lavender blooms when the flowers are just starting to open. Cut the flower stalks in the morning after the dew has dried but before the heat of the day.
Growing Vera lavender from seeds may require some patience, but the beautiful, fragrant blooms are well worth the effort. Lavender is a versatile plant that can be used in various ways, from sachets to essential oils and culinary applications. Enjoy the process of growing this lovely herb in your garden.

Not sure yet?
Only have had these for 24 hours but also purchased a couple other chew toys from Amazon as well and all were delivered at the same time. Point being that my #60 silver lab was trading off between all of them and after 2 hours only you can see little shards of plastic sticking up from these chews. Not sure how long these will last before having to throw them away but they are pretty nice and feel heavy and durable. So many of these companies claim they are “indestructible” but all 4 I purchased have little plastic pieces sticking up already. Even my #14 Shih Tzu enjoyed trying to chew these and it kept her busy even though they are for larger dogs.

Golden approved
My golden retriever’s really enjoy these chew toys. They are pretty durable and last awhile. They are hard plastic but they do get rough edges after they’ve been chewed in for awhile

Perfect for chewy doggos
My dogs loved them! Keeps them entertained for a few mins. You can also fill with PB and freeze. Or yogurt and freeze. Great for the doggos

Mixed Results: SIHRMIU Dog Chew Toys Offered Stimulation, Limited Interest from Aggressive Chewers
I recently purchased the SIHRMIU 2 Pack Dog Chew Toys for Aggressive Chewers with hopes of providing my energetic dogs with both entertainment and stimulation. While these toys boasted durability and were designed to alleviate boredom, my experience with them yielded mixed results.
Upon receiving the chew toys, I appreciated their sturdy construction and the promise of durability, which was essential given my dogs' penchant for aggressive chewing. The variety of textures and shapes seemed promising, offering potential for engaging play sessions that could keep my pets occupied and mentally stimulated.
Initially, my dogs showed some interest in the toys, eagerly sniffing and exploring them. They seemed intrigued by the different textures and shapes, and I was hopeful that these toys would provide the entertainment they needed.
However, as my dogs began to interact more with the toys, it became evident that their interest was short-lived. While they engaged with the toys for brief periods, they quickly lost interest and returned to their usual chewing favorites. Despite their designation for aggressive chewers, the toys did not seem to withstand the intense chewing of my pets as well as expected. Within a short time, I noticed signs of wear and tear, with pieces starting to break off.
While the SIHRMIU dog chew toys offered some stimulation and diversion for my dogs, they ultimately failed to hold their interest or stand up to their aggressive chewing habits. While they may be suitable for dogs with less voracious chewing tendencies, they were not a perfect fit for my pets.
In conclusion, while these chew toys have potential and may work well for some dogs, they fell short of expectations for my aggressive chewers. I appreciate the effort put into their design and durability, but unfortunately, they did not meet the needs of my furry companions.
