Absolutely unmatched in appearance, Eve’s needle forms a rounded, fleshy ‘trunk’ from which petite cylindrical, leaf-like tubercles emerge, creating an unusual aesthetic scarcely seen in succulents – or anywhere else!

Native to the harsh climes of the Peruvian Andes, it can reach heights of up to 12 feet when provided with the appropriate conditions! Within our homes, however, limiting factors such as pot size and light availability typically result in a far more manageably sized plant, though even small specimens will retain their tree-like growth habit. Provide it with the brightest light possible for your home, and it will reward you with large, red blooms that give way to small, edible fruits!

Like all cacti, Eve’s needle prefers a thorough yet infrequent watering routine, coupled with a porous soil mixture within a well-draining pot.  While it can survive a light frost, this variety prefers warm temperatures, so do the best you can to avoid exposing it to weather below 40 degrees Fahrenheit.
