Prickly Pear is one of our most popular flower essences—and for good reason! This iconic desert medicine provides resilience and reassurance to the layers of the psyche which govern our sense of safety, security, and self worth. Prickly Pear is an essence for making choices that nourish us on all levels rather than settling for substitutes, which leave us longing for more. So often we attempt to satisfy a spiritual hunger through the material world, and to no avail. This is an ally for anyone who pines for that which is just beyond their reach, rather than enjoying the gifts which already surround them.
Like many desert plants, Prickly Pear has the ability to make the most of the resources available, and to bloom despite the odds. This essence teaches us to do the same and helps us to appreciate what we *do* have instead of focusing on what we might lack. It aids in releasing habits of over-eating, over-spending, and over-committing and is helpful for anyone who struggles to savor their accomplishments before moving on to the next task. This essence is an antidote to feelings of never being enough. It helps us to release the need to hustle for worthiness and shows us just how lovable we already are.
