white lily species Lilium leucanthum coll 03CH064This Chinese species hails from the Chinese provinces of Gansu and Hubei, and now Sichuan. The 3 4' tall stalks are topped in mid June (NC) with 1 4 large white flowers, each tinged lavender on the outside and highlighted inside by a prominent yellow throat and bright orange pollen. These plants don't quite match either of the known varieties. Our offering represents a 2003 wild seed collection from Sichuan by Minnesota lily breeder Hans Hansen.
