For over 25 years we have carefully positioned the cracks before it is carved to ensure the utmost quality. Checking and Cracking is normal aging of the wood so do not be concerned. This carving comes with 1 coat of Water-based Exterior Spar-urethane. If kept outside, please reapply exterior finish every year.
