For zones 3-10 Amaranthus can be started in pots eight weeks before you last frost, or direct seeded into your garden in the spring also after your last frost. These require light to germinate to sow seeds on surface and cover lightly with sand. Amaranthus can get quite large so give them plenty of room to spread out. If they get too large for your garden you can cut them back and they will rebloom the brighter red flower head.

Good, not perfect
I do like that this is safer for the environment. And it goes on just fine. Not greasy or anything. If you only use a little and rub well, your skin doesn't turn a ghostly white. Does great and I never have to reapply even after being outside sweating in heat and humidity all day. BUT, for some reason this is the only sunscreen I've ever used that has left a black ring around my finger where my wedding band sits. I've used a ton of sunscreens and I'm not sure why this one does it, but it's super annoying.
