Philodendron mayoi, the Brazilian climber named in honor of botanist Simon Mayo, brings its contrasting parent character — deeply pinnately lobed, palm-like leaves with broad, rounded lobes cut in a pattern that gives the species an almost tropical-fan silhouette quite distinct from the squamiferum-style multi-finger lobing of the Florida lineage.
